RHINO BREEDING, UNCOVERING LEADERS & DONATING KNOWLEDGE
Dear <<First Name>>,

Kenya’s iconic savannahs are often associated with dry landscapes, but can be surprisingly fertile. In a short space of time, the lands where Saruni’s guests explore and travel have generated an unusual number of rare species: a baby black rhino, a top female Maasai lodge manager, a great donor of books to local schools, a committed adventurer who loves and understand conservation (and motorbikes!), and an engineer who has led some of the most extraordinary safari training that has ever be done in the country.

The baby rhino is still unnamed (and you will see below why), but the other rarities are known: super manager Cecilia (Rono), super donor Bjorn, super guide Pietro (Luraschi), super star Charley Boorman. We are very proud of them and we present here below some of their stories that represent the most exciting events in Samburu and the Masai Mara.

However, I suggest not to miss the Q&A with Lemeria, well known to many of you. A legendary guide who has spent his entire life attending the “bush academy” of the Mara, a true character who doesn’t need many words to get noticed and also a man who, as a boy has fought with lions (and won), Lemeria represents all that is special about Saruni, and in many cases #whyIloveSaruni.

Happy reading and thank you for your support, as always.

RHINO BEHIND THE SCENES
Getting Saruni Rhino ready for launch was a memorable challenge. Go behind the scenes in this video to see what went into the latest conservation success story and the key players that made it all possible.

QUEEN OF THE MARA
The first female Maasai manager to lead a top safari lodge in the Masai Mara…this is what Cecilia Rono has become after climbing through the ranks in more than a decade of exceptional work at Saruni.  We wish her every continued success.
RUBBER SIDE DOWN!
Delighted to have welcomed ‘Long Way Round’ star Charley Boorman and his wife Olly to Saruni Samburu, Rhino and to track black rhino in Sera. Great adventures were had. Check out  their tracking escapades here.

THROUGH A GUIDE'S EYES
A man of few words but tons of inexplicable actions, the legend that is Lemeria Nchoe – our super guide in the Mara – has spoken at length (which is unusual for those who know him!) in this Q&A. Go behind the enigma, and learn more, here.

BABY MALE RHINO BORN
And then we were 12! News recently of a baby male rhino born in the Rhino Sanctuary in Sera Conservancy, currently being cared for by the Reteti Elephant Orphanage, soon to return. Congrats!

A HAPPY ENDING-STORY
Ngoswani Primary School recently received the generous donation of 600+ educational books, gifted by Saruni Mara guest Björn inspired by a school visit. Why not plan your charitable donations ahead of time, and ‘Pack for a Purpose’.
