Almost half way there!

As you may know, we're on a mission to plant 1,000 trees this winter! We are at a critical juncture for Durham's tree canopy. Thousands of large street trees planted in the 1930's are projected to die in coming years due to old age and urban pressures. Studies forecast that we must plant 1,000 trees per year in order to replace these aging trees.

We are almost half way to our goal of 1,000 trees!

Help us reach our goal by volunteering!
Through just a few hours of work you can ensure clean air and water and a greener environment for our generation and the next!

You can also give the gift of trees! As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we not only need volunteers, but the funds so there can even be trees to plant! Just $50 means one more tree for a child to watch grow, to provide shelter to animals, and guarantee a greener Durham.

Take action in your community!

Tree planting on James Street

An incredibly dedicated group of 35 volunteers came out in freezing temperatures on Saturday afternoon to plant trees on James Street in the Lakewood-Tuscaloosa neighborhood. Together we planted 72 trees, preserving Durham's tree canopy and providing clean air, water, and shade for generations to come. Special thanks to the neighborhood, including the talented TROSA landscaping team, as well as Rotary Club of Durham, and our Durham Treekeepers for your time and for braving the cold to make a difference!
