Employee leaves and accommodations can create very confusing situations for employers. The Family Medical Leave Act (“FMLA”), the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”) and workers compensation laws can occasionally combine to create a perfect storm for employers and determining the proper course of action and managing the process can be overwhelming. We will discuss these laws and what each requires and provide some best practices for handling an employee in need of a leave of absence or other medical-related accommodation. 
Additionally, we will provide a brief overview of new Colorado employment laws that were signed into law earlier this year. We will discuss the key changes that employers need to keep top of mind as it relates to their workforce, all of which are certain to affect companies this year and beyond.
