Authority of a Shravak

Acharya Bhikshu had articulated great value of a shravak. He had authorized him to expel a monk from the sangh when needed. Boradiaji’s incident is relevant here. Acharya Kalugani ordered Muni Nathrajji (in Gangapur) to spend chaaturmaas at Mokhanunda. However, due to his sickness, Nathrajji was staying at Devaria (a village near to Mokhanunda). Devaria was more conducive place with regard to food, water, place, etc., and his health also improved soon. Now Nathrajji didn’t want to go to another place, leaving all the comforts and facilities. So, despite getting better, he didn’t depart from there. The shravaks were in chaos. Some shravaks visited Muni Nathrajji and asked about his vihar (departure). Muni Nathrajji said, ‘I am weak right now. I will go after some time.’ After some days the shravaks contacted him once again. Under the pressure by the shravaks, Muni Nathrajji left for Mokhanunda unwillingly. On the way, his legs started to stumble because of his unwillingness. Noticing his intention, distinguished shravak Juharmalji Boradia said, ‘We are willing to be at your service throughout your stay at Mokhanunda. If you do not want to spend chaaturmaas there, return the books of the sangh and you will be free to go wherever you want.’ This straightforward statement of Boradiaji compelled Nathrajji to reach Mokhanunda.

When Boradiaji visited Acharya Kalugani and narrated the incident, the Acharya praised him amidst the whole assembly and said, ‘Our shravaks are very attentive. They do not hesitate to show the right path even to Tthe monks who get distracted. They know all the disciplines of the sangh.’ The shravak plays an important role in our order. If a shravak evaluates his own self, he can be very useful to the dharamsangh.

Gyanshala Yearly Exams

Under the auspicious guidance of Samani Malay Pragyaji and Samani Neeti Pragya Ji and with immense effort and planning from Prachi Ji, Shweta Ji and all the teachers, JVBNA organized its first ever online Gyanshala exam. The credit for the success of this new format of reviewing kids knowledge also goes to the kids who took the exam. They displayed all the virtues of Jainism while attending the exam and maintained their composure while facing a completely new format of knowledge test. No matter how they score in their test, they definitely passed with flying colors in their manners ,discipline and respect to the gurus. Using all the resources and technology available, the entire affair was very well organized, planned and executed. All the teachers and substitute teachers stepped unto the occasion and managed the entire process impeccably. This new process may also finds its place in the post pandemic world of JVB Gyanshala.

Acharya Mahapragya Birth Centenary Lecture Series

On the occasion of Acharya Mahapragya's birth centenary, in the month of May, Samani Malay Pragyaji and Samani Niti Pragyaji delivered lectures and literature on topics that impact our daily life. Acknowledging the life and dedication of Acharya Mahapragyaji towards upliftment of human behavior and human thinking, Samanijis made an impactful argument for the topic and inspired the listeners to follow the journey of Acharya Mahapragya.

Samani Malay Pragya Ji in her lecture on the "How to Think ?", a book written by Acharya Mahapragya Ji breaks down the topic in a very simple and easy to understand words. Starting from the type of people from thinking perspective, she makes thoughts as single most important quality which shapes the life and journey of a person. She covered areas like what factors makes you think and what to think. The topic was brilliantly tied with examples as Samanijis progressed though her explanation on the topic. Samani Malay Pragya Ji also delivered a very impactful lecture on "Journey from Micro to Macro". The topic covered how we can increase our own value by making use of every second of our time, making small changes instead of waiting to make a big change and making use of all available resources no matter how small. Samaniji broke down the journey into few basic steps that everyone can follow to bring about this transition in their life. Starting from Morning Miracle and following SAVERS for six minutes everyday, applying START formula to work on the set goals instead of waiting , self development using SWITCH formula and finally working towards the goal, "Siddhi ki Yatra". The entire lecture was very detailed and filled with easy to understand examples. The session concluded with question and answer session with audience.

Samani Niti Pragya Ji in her lecture on the "Freedom from Sorrow ?", another brilliant book written by Acharya Mahapragya Ji explored the various cycles of human emotions particularly in relation to happiness and sorrow. She setup the argument by very simples stories which explained the reasons of sorrow, also termed as DARK, which stands for Desire, Attachment, Rage and Karma. Samanijis broke down these four properties and explained in detailed how these negative attributes  of our emotions do more harm to us than good. Samanijis then followed up with the cure to DARK and went on to explain how to free ourselves from sorrow i,e. FREEDOM. Freedom stands for Fearlessness, Realization, Equilibrium, Effort, Detachment, Openness and  Mind-beyond-Mind. In the end the responsibility lies on individual to follow through on thoughts and implement them in our lives
