Acknowledging Donations. After the joyful flurry of the holiday season gives way to a new year, many of our ministries will begin focusing on tax season. Don’t forget that donors of gifts in excess of $250 must have a written acknowledgment from the recipient organization in order to claim a tax deduction. The written acknowledgement can be mailed or provided electronically via email. IRS Publication 1771 outlines substantiation and disclosure requirements for charitable gifts.
Send Us Your Information Securely! As part of our infrastructure modernization effort, we have launched a new feature on our website that allows you to securely transmit sensitive or confidential information to us (e.g. housing allowance forms or other information that contains social security numbers, bank account numbers, etc.). Look for the “Send Us a File” link at the bottom of our website under “Contact Us.” Click the link to be directed to a web form where you select the staff member to send your information to and upload your files. We no longer have a fax. Please email us or use our new “Send Us a File” option described above.
New Online Annual Report Process. The central office has implemented a more streamlined and ecological way of receiving and processing annual reports. An email was sent out on January 21, 2021, from “Rev. Diana Kennedy” to the main contact email address we have on file. If you have not yet received an email with a link to our new online form(s), please email Rev. Michael Perrie. Thank you for helping us keep our records updated so that we may serve you better! Reports are due by March 31, 2021.
Ministers: Manse Form. Ministers who are not assigned to a ministry and desire for UWM to approve their manse allowance should fill out a new manse form for 2021. This is a fillable PDF. Please email your forms to Connie Savage at

If people are under age 18, you must have a release from their parent/guardian before using their image. Consider keeping a “do not photo” list for those who do not want their photo used for privacy/safety reasons.
EarthCare Idea. Looking for an activity that works for both Valentine’s Day and EarthCare? Beth Remmes, EarthCare ministry team member, suggests reading Love Letter to the Earth by Thich Nhat Hanh. "A few years ago at Unity Atlanta, Peachtree Corners, Georgia, we recited Thich Nhat Hanh's mindfulness mantras on a short walk in the labyrinth. We then wrote our own love letter to the earth on beautiful recycled paper. We shared our favorite passages from the book and our letters with each other."
