This week remember that it is not about us, but about Jesus. When the world looks at us they should see Jesus. If they don't, then we need to keep working on it and if they do then we need to make sure it is as clear as we can get it.

As you know, every year we have a Chili Cook-Off to replenish the Elders’ In-Reach Fund. This year we have had a number of serious needs in our congregation that has left the Fund at a very low point. Perhaps you don’t know exactly what the In-Reach Fund is.
Our Out-reach funds go to many worthy agencies and causes in our community or even in our world. At the same time, we sometimes have members with a crisis or serious need that they cannot deal with. Examples from the past are things like prescriptions, new glasses, dental work, rent and utility bills. We have all had low periods in our lives where we could use a little financial help. That is the purpose of the In-Reach Fund. Only your Elder, the Chairperson of the Elders, and the pastor will ever know of your request.
The Elders of FCC are praying that you will participate by concocting your own chili, soup, or stew in your crock-pot, bringing it to the cook-off on January 29th AND that you will buy many raffle tickets for some great items (even a TV), and give generously to our love offering basket. Of course, you will have a lot of fun and fellowship as well as some great food.

Think of life as something God has given us to manage or take care of. Everything comes from God. We may use our talent or ability to achieve material goods, but the talent or ability is a gift from God to begin with. Once you look at life this way, as a steward, it becomes clear that we just give of what we are, as well as what we have. It means cultivating an attitude of generous giving and getting into the habit of thinking of others.Click on the the link to read the full February Stewardship.
