I’d like to share with you, from our Daily Lenten Devotions from the Society of St. Andrew. If you haven’t picked one up yet, I encourage you to do so – it’s a helpful daily discipline for the season.
Today’s entry was written by Barbara Lipford of Bedford, Virginia. She entitled it “You Gotta Have Faith!” (Hebrews 11.1-6).
I have been really struggling with this devotion, and I don’t know why.
Faith…faith…well, faith is easy!
Faith is the confidence and assurance that what we hope for is going to happen.
So I guess now would be the time I would go into the examples of men and women
in the Bible that had tremendous faith.
There are so many!
Who do I choose? What direction do I go? I can’t settle on any one example.
So, as I sit here, a still small voice speaks to me and says, “Barbara, have faith.”
So this is my hope. Instead of spending time on a devotion, would you spend this time
with God today, just you and the Father, and build your faith?
Talk to him. Convey your worries, your cares, and your hopes…
the time spent in worship with the Father is time well spent.
Wait on the Lord…”have faith”…
Let us pray….

Can You Help?
We really appreciate our Associate and Youth pastors for stepping up while we have been without a Senior Pastor. Glenn and Joe took on extra duties during the time we have been searching for an Interim Minister. We would like to thank them for their help with a bonus paycheck. We are asking for your help, to fund this bonus. If you can help, please mark “pastor’s bonus” on the memo of your check. Thank you to those who have already contributed to this fund.

MISSION WORKERS NEEDED
Everyone says we need mission projects and now we have two right here in our own back yard. I believe this is a God thing, to get us out the pews and helping others. Showing that God Things Happen wherever FCC Duncanville happens to be!
CCSW Disciples Men 2017 MISSION WORK PROJECT will be at the Iglesia Cristiana La Roca Church.
Not more than 18 minutes from FCC Duncanville!
Their Spring Mission Project will be back at the church they built in 2015, and building an attached 35’ X 40’ expansion structure for Sunday School and Office rooms with Electrical and HVAC to be installed.
What can you do!! Your participation is needed. All skill levels needed. Your prayers for the project are needed. Your monetary gifts are appreciated. When: The week of March 27th to 31st. They will be working from Monday to Friday. You may come for all or part of the time. If you can come, come Wednesday through Friday, because many men have to leave on Wednesday or Thursday, so we have a few less men to finish up the very important work.
IMPORTANT: Please let them know what days you are coming and & how long you can stay. Please fill out the Volunteer Registration forms in our Outreach Corner and send in, so they can plan the work schedule and food.
For Check in & Breakfast, come to the host church: Rosemont Christian Center, 1304 S. Hampton, Dallas. After 8AM each day we will go to the job site at 2746 52nd St. Dallas, TX.
Coming up on April 28th & 29th the Property Improvement Program (PIP).
The Duncanville community is coming together to help local residents through the City’s Property Improvement Project program. Led by the First United Methodist Church (FUMC) in Duncanville, in partnership with City’s Neighborhood Vitality Commission, local volunteers perform cosmetic upgrades to bring local residences back to community standards.
We hope to become a important part of this vital Outreach to our community. Applications are in our Outreach Corner. Please sign up on the sheet provided, so they will know how many to expect. Again, this is showing that God Things Happen wherever FCC Duncanville happens to be!
