All things VSassy Academy.
A run down of our year!
A bunch of the burlesquers dressed up (way too early) and headed to the beach. The result was this video - Folding Chair. It was a very fun morning!! I recommend you watch the video again and enjoy it some more.
12th March - Chrome Street Fiesta
Our little street was packed with people and alive with music, dancing, art, demonstrations and yummy food. Was a pleasure to be a part of, preparations are underway for next years, stay tuned! Pic by Clare Apelt.
27th April - STAY AWAY Womens only Self-Defense Workshop
Tim Alexander and Krav Maga Training Academy
(and their brave volunteers) delivered a Stay Away workshop for women at the studio. There are now some empowered women who feel far more able to handle themselves in difficult situations. It was an invaluable workshop, highly recommend to all the women I know!
This year CoTFF raised funds for The Brisbane Domestic Violence Service and Rosies friends on the street who help the Brisbane homeless. Well done Ness Jane on another successful event. Thank you Steve Peters for the great images! VSassy Academy and The Velvet Kittens are proud to have supported this event for another year.
Our neighbours Reload Espresso Bar hosted a Variety night and we got to perform. It was a wonderful energetic night with music and dancing as it always is for their Warehouse Sessions.
Students have done amazingly well participating in Performance Nights this year, as always. Thanks for embracing the themes and all of your efforts in class and beyond!
Bourbon and Burlesque!
It has been an absolute pleasure having burlesque students perform at The Velvet Kittens Bourbon and Burlesque Shows this year. All of the students who’ve performed have done a wonderful job!

Thank you very much to the students who’ve filled out the feedback form and offered their suggestions for improving the studio and classes. I really appreciate you taking the time. If you missed out on filling out a form and you have some feedback for me I would love to hear it. Email through or have a chat to me in class.
Keep Our Hotties Cool!
So far the main point in the feedback is to improve the air-con situation. This has been on my list of studio improvements for a long time so I’ve decided to ask for help raising the funds. Stay tuned for more fundraising ideas… Participation may require dressing up and washing cars, selling raffle tickets or handling sausages! The Christmas performance night raffle is to include a Christmas Hamper, please contribute non-perishables at the studio, if you can.
Thank you for all of your support this year, Vivienne VSassy xo
