Early Childhood Students engaging in
(physically distanced) hands-on art activities.
Students who attend in-person will be learning about various aspects of child development, AND participating in hands-on experiences utilizing various materials, in order to prepare them for our Preschool to start in October.
Students who are remote learners have been looking up activities online and sharing their learning that way.
Meet Mr. Davis!
Hello, my name is Mr. Davis and I am the new Building Maintenance Coordinator at KEC. I was born in Tennessee, grew up in DeKalb, and went through the DeKalb school system. I am married and have three sons, along with seven grandkids. I love all sports and enjoy attending car shows. I am a big country music fan. Before coming to work in the school systems, I owned a drywall business and have worked doing drywall for over thirty years. I am very excited about being a part of KEC.
KEC'S AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM
Last school year, the Automotive Technologies class had a new addition to the students' experience, with a 1980 Chevy Monza dragster. Mr. Rogers had been looking for a project car where the students could participate in the rebuilding process, which is just what this car offers KEC students.
Mr. Rogers traveled to Georgia to get the car, has been working on resourcing parts, and has collected donations to help pay for the restoration.
As this school year progresses, we will be posting updates and pictures with the progress made to this project. The students in these photos are checking clearance for the new fuel delivery system, prepping the engine or bay for sandblasting, and finishing the engine assembly.
KEC Sunnyside Preschool
will start in-person for children ages 3-5 years on October 6!
