Love Your History – Call for Youth Artwork

Bartholomew County students ages 14–19 and/or attending high school (public, private and homeschool) are being asked to submit original artwork for the Inn at Irwin Gardens' event, "Love Your History."

Are you inspired by historic landmarks that make Columbus a special place to live? We have an art assignment for you! Create a one-of-a-kind work of art that visually represents what “Love Your History” means to you and win a chance to exhibit your work at The Inn at Irwin Gardens. Students selected to exhibit work will be entered into an art contest with cash awards.

CAAC seeking grant panelists

All Indiana Arts Commission grants are reviewed and scored by Hoosiers like you! We are looking for Indiana residents representing diverse backgrounds, experiences and knowledge in the arts to serve as citizen grant review panelists in 2020.

Panelists will review Arts Organization Support I and Arts Project Support grants in Region 9: Bartholomew, Dearborn, Decatur, Franklin, Jackson, Jennings, Ohio, Ripley and Switzerland counties. The Region 9 grant review panel will be held in Columbus on April 23, 2020 (refreshments are provided). 

Ideal panelist candidates have experience in one or more of the following: an art form, arts administration, arts project management, non-profit management or administration, or community arts organizing. We also value candidates who have experience working with diverse groups of people. Young professionals as well as experienced cultural sector workers, artists and arts leaders are encouraged to apply. Selected panelists will receive complete training prior to their scheduled panel session.

Columbus Area Bicentennial Committee Logo Design Contest

The Columbus Area Bicentennial Steering Committee is hosting a design contest to develop the official logo for the upcoming 2021 Bicentennial Anniversary. The committee seeks designers to showcase their professional talents and create a visual showpiece for the Columbus Area Bicentennial. Design proposals should incorporate the history and development of the City of Columbus and Bartholomew County.

Hoosier Women Artists Contest call for entries

Since 2008, the Hoosier Women Artists program has celebrated and further expanded the important role art plays in our communities by showcasing the work of talented women artists throughout the state.

The theme of the 2020 Hoosier Women Artists competition will be a celebration of women and commemoration of the women’s suffrage centennial anniversary. Artists are encouraged to submit pieces related to this theme, expressed in the artists’ own interpretation.

Indiana Arts Commission Opportunities

Individual Advancement Program
Individual Advancement Program provides support up to $2,000 to Indiana artists for career development projects. This cycle, IAC is accepting visual arts (crafts, design, media arts, photography) applications. Applications due February 6, 2020.

Creative Community Pathway
Creative Community Pathway is a roadmap for any Indiana community to use arts and culture-based strategies to grow community wellbeing. Communities interested in pursuing special designation through the program must submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) by February 27, 2020.

Arts Organization Support I
Arts Organization Support provides annual operating support for the ongoing artistic and administrative functions of eligible arts organizations. Applications due March 5, 2020.

Arts Project Support
Arts Project Support provides funding to nonprofit organizations to support a specific part of the organization's arts activities or a series of related arts activities such as art classes or training sessions. Applications due March 5, 2020.
