411 Community Studio now open!

The 411 Community Studio is a flexible space for local and visiting artists to work, meet and collaborate. Designed by LAA Office and fabricated of custom plywood panels and built-in furniture by Tovey Perry Co., the space is meant to evolve as artists work with the community to reimagine the exhibition wall into temporary installations. The Community Studio is part of the Columbus Area Arts Council's inaugural residency project and was made possible through generous support from Heritage Fund: The Community Foundation of Bartholomew County.

CAAC and IAC Hosting Grant Writing Pizza Party

We're ready to put the fun in application and grant writing! And what's more fun than a pizza party with a bunch of creatives? Join us for a Grant Writing Pizza Party to work through your career development grant and the On-Ramp Creative Career Accelerator applications. After this meetup, you’ll leave your grant writing fears behind you.

December 16
6:00–8:00 pm
411 – A Project of the Arts & Entertainment District

411 Sixth Street, Columbus, IN

What you'll learn:
  • How to know when you’re ready to pursue a grant.
  • Which grant(s) to pursue.
  • Details about grants available from the IAC and others.
  • Start your application while you’re here (bring your laptop!).
We want to make sure we order enough pizza, so RSVP-ing is required to attend. Spread the word to all the Indiana artists and creatives you know!

Love Your History - Call for Youth Artwork

Bartholomew County students ages 14–19 and/or attending high school (public, private and homeschool) are being asked to submit original artwork for the Inn at Irwin Gardens' event, "Love Your History."

Are you inspired by historic landmarks that make Columbus a special place to live? We have an art assignment for you! Create a one-of-a-kind work of art that visually represents what “Love Your History” means to you and win a chance to exhibit your work at The Inn at Irwin Gardens. Students selected to exhibit work will be entered into an art contest with cash awards.
