Dear Friends of CAAC,

While we’ve been sheltering in place this spring, we've kept the arts active in Columbus and beyond with online activities, Artist-led Workshops, Pop-up Programs, and a virtual tour of our last exhibit at 411 Gallery. Check out what we've been up to, and what's next!

And, if you're still in need of a "Stay Healthy–Stay Creative" yard or window sign, you can get one at

On view at 411 Gallery: In-depth

We have a new exhibition on view at 411 Gallery: In-depth, featuring the work of Robert Pulley and Aline Chevalier. Read more about this exhibition at

We've installed the work to be visible through the windows along Sixth Street. Take a look, or schedule a time to view the exhibition by contacting CAAC Program Specialist, Susana Villegas, at

Follow 411 Gallery on Facebook and Instagram for more from the artists and a full virtual tour (coming soon)!

Empowering Banners from the Sarah Marsom Artist-led Workshop

Thanks to everyone who joined us for our first online Artist-led Workshop: Banners of Empowerment with Sarah Marsom! We had a great time learning more from Sarah about the historical context of inspirational banners, and hearing personal stories and seeing the creative results. Check out some of the final banners below:

Banners from the Sarah Marsom "Banners of Empowerment" workshop. Slogans are: "Vote" (featuring a Venus/female symbol in place of the 't'), "Her Vote, Her Voice", "Always Ready", "Herstory", "Vote", "Embrace Who You Are", "Ad Astra Per Aspera", and "One Day at a Time"

Upcoming Artist-led Workshop: Dance Improvisation with Xin Ying

Join us for our next online Artist-led Workshop: Dance Improvisation with Xin Ying, June 16 at 5:30 pm.

In this workshop, Xin Ying, principal dancer with the Martha Graham Dance Company, will lead us in opening our minds and loosening our idea of what it means to dance. By using the techniques of improvisation, we can express thoughts, feelings and ideas through movement. Join us as we stop worrying about getting it right, and start moving to see where the process takes us.

Learn more in an interview with Ying, watch her dance on Instagram @xin_ying_dance, and register for the workshop on Eventbrite.

Check out our Open Mic Nights

In addition to our online Artist-led Workshops, we've also held two Open Mic Nights featuring bands with Columbus connections. Visit our Facebook Live page to watch the full performances by the Banister Family Bluegrass Band from April 29, and The Lucky Band from May 20!
