FIAT/IFTA WORLD CONFERENCE 2022

After almost three years without an opportunity to meet in person, we are extremely proud and happy to be able to reunite all those with a professional interest in media archives. We did not hesitate to keep Cape Town as the location for this conference, where the 2021 edition was also initially planned. Not only is this city an important continental hub in media production – think of the many media outlets that have their offices here and the ubiquitous facilities for film production – it also breathes the history of the twentieth century, the century in which television was to arise. We couldn’t imagine a better location for the first FIAT/IFTA World Conference on the African continent than this beautiful, iconic city.

FIAT/IFTA AWARDS 2022: SHORTLISTED CANDIDATES

The Juries of the 2022 FIAT/IFTA Archive Achievement Awards are delighted to announce this year’s shortlist! So many wonderful archive-related initiatives worldwide have been nominated for the 2022 FIAT/IFTA Awards. The jury from each of the four categories evaluated to the best of its knowledge and belief each nominated project individually under the criteria of each of the categories. The selection was tough. The FIAT/IFTA community can consider itself very lucky that so many AV archive projects promote the reuse of archive footage globally on the highest level.

Best of luck to you all! Each FIAT/IFTA Award winner will be revealed at the FIAT/IFTA Awards Show, held on October 5th 2022. Save the date!
