Letter from the Principal

Dear Members of the PAA Community:

I am pleased to inform you that I have almost completed my COVID quarantine, and I am eager to be back on campus with our wonderful staff and students.

Since COVID caused so many students to be delayed in completing their final exams, we have not yet sent report cards for the first semester. Even though there are still a few students who have not yet finished their exams, I plan to email the report cards today rather than keep you in suspense any longer.

As I mentioned in my previous letter, we are in the process of making plans for the next school year, and I hope to hear from each of you soon regarding your plans for enrollment at PAA next year. I hope that each of our students will return and bring at least one new friend with them. I also hope that each of the eighth grade students at PAE, COAS, OCS, and FRAS will join us at PAA next year, and that each of them will bring a friend.

You may have noticed that I sent an invitation for you to re-enroll your student earlier this week. I plan to re-send that invitation a few more times, because I have been told that most people need to be reminded of these kinds of things about seven times before they will take action. (Of course, I know that you are the kind of people who don’t need that many reminders.)

I would like to remind you that if you complete the online re-enrollment process by Friday (February 4), we will waive the $100 re-enrollment fee.

To complete the online re-enrollment process:

• Go to www.factsmgt.com

• Select Parent Log In from the menu bar and FACTS Family Portal from the drop-down menu.

• Type in your username and password. If you have forgotten your username (first initial last name) or password, click on the link provided.

• After logging in, click on Apply/Enroll in the left menu.

• Click on the Enrollment/Reenrollment link.

I am told that it takes about 15 minutes to complete the online re-enrollment process. Your information will be saved if you need to stop mid-process and resume later.

PAA Art Club Workshops

The PAA Art Club is offering another afternoon workshop for students to explore their unique creative abilities and work with acrylic paint on canvas with Mrs. Lori Phillips. The workshop is February 11th, 2022, at 1 p.m. on the Chico Oaks campus. The workshop is FREE; however, you must register ahead of time by emailing wweems@mypaa.net with your name and phone number. The workshop is limited to 20 students. All materials will be provided; just bring an attitude of creativity and fun! Note that the first workshop listed below has already occurred.

Freshman-Sophomore Retreat—March 11-13
Please note the date change. This spiritual retreat will be at Pacific Union College. The cost is normally $125 per student. If students register soon, an early registration discount combined with a PAA subsidy will reduce the cost to $50 per student, billed via FACTS. Students who plan to attend this retreat are invited to notify Pastor Larry, Mr. Ratter, or Mr. Goymer, and if they want the reduced cost, they must notify them soon.

Colors of Jazz Music Fundraiser
The PAA music department presents Colors of Jazz: A Music Fundraiser on Sunday, February 27th, 2022 at 6pm. Save the date! Spread the word! Invite your friends, colleagues, and community! The music department is abuzz and working hard to prepare a completely new show featuring all things jazz and bright. Don't miss this chance to see what PAA is up to next! Tickets go on sale next week. Can't wait to see you there!

Online Programming Class
La Sierra University is offering a course on coding in the Python programming language:

College Financial Aid Workshop—February 15, 6:00-7:30P.M.
Attend a walkthrough of the financial aid process, with guidance for completing the FAFSA, provided by Pacific Union College. Open to all students and parents:

March 13—Next SAT Date
Register by February 11 to avoid paying a late fee. See this information from Mrs. Muth regarding test dates and instructions to sign-up for Sunday testing.
