Letter from the Principal

Dear Members of the PAA Community:

We have reached the time of year when those who are counting down the number of school days are able to do so with the fingers of just two hands. I encourage our students to savor this one last full week of school as they prepare to demonstrate how much they have grown academically during this school year. (Final exams will occur on June 1 and 2. The Final Exam Schedule can be viewed here.)

This is a good time for students to connect with students in other grades regarding the textbooks they will need for the next school year. A beautiful way for our current freshmen to welcome and connect with our incoming freshmen would be to initiate a conversation that includes an offer regarding textbooks. A beautiful way for all of us to welcome and connect with our incoming freshmen would be to cheer them on at their eighth grade graduation ceremonies (May 24: OCS, June 1: PAE, June 2: COAS).

I continue to be encouraged by the number of students who have enrolled in the freshman and sophomore classes at Paradise Adventist Academy for the 2022-2023 school year. It appears that there will be close to 20 students in the sophomore class, and close to 15 students in the freshman class. The junior and senior classes will be smaller in quantity, but still great in quality.

We continually strive to improve Paradise Adventist Academy, and we understand how important it is that we receive feedback from our students and parents. For that reason, we will soon invite you to complete a Parent Satisfaction Survey. These surveys are most useful when most of our “stakeholders” participate. For that reason, I hope that each of our students and parents will complete the survey when given the opportunity.

Get Your Yearbooks—and a Doughnut
Look closely at the picture below, and you can glimpse pages of the 2021-2022 PAA yearbook in unbound, preview form. The publications class will release the real deal on Monday, May 24. Come to the courtyard at the beginning of lunch to get your yearbooks and begin signing them. Each yearbook will be accompanied by a complimentary doughnut.

Sports Awards Dinner
The PAA athletic department will hold its annual sports awards dinner at 6:00 p.m. on May 24 in the Chico church fellowship room.

Pyramid Basketball Camp
Pyramid Basketball Camp will be held June 13–17, 2022. Students entering grades 5–12 will meet 8:30–12:00, Monday–Friday, and grades K–4 will meet 1:00–3:00, Monday–Thursday. PAA Golf Tournament
The Paradise Adventist Academy athletic department is hosting its annual golf tournament on Sunday, June 12th, at The Links at Rolling Hills in Corning, starting at 9:30 a.m. Contact Jason Eyer (530) 966-4430 or pick up a brochure at the PAA office for information about entering a group or sponsoring the tournament.
