A New Season?
May 2018 eNews
Dear <<First Name>>

We have come out of the winter hibernation with a bang. The hottest recorded May Bank weekend with temperatures hitting 23 to 28 C down south. Is this prophetic with Israel and Iran close to direct conflict via Syria. Hamas sending its citizens to break through the Israeli border fence from Gaza? Israeli's are gearing up for a down pour of precise rockets and missiles Iran has been preparing in Syria, Lebenon in the north and Gaza in the south. The trigger for all of this could be the move of the US Embassy to Jerusalem on 14 May in time for Israel's 70th celebrations.

Since our last newsletter in November a lot has happened which may have been the reason we have not had the time to write one up. Cyprus An offer to do a  7 day tour to north Cyprus at the beginning of December came up that we felt right to join as it included a number of biblical sites. North Cyprus is effectively controlled by Turkey since the 1974 partition that formed the Green Line between the unrecognised  'Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus' from the internationally recognised Republic of Cyprus.
Channukah
We celebrated Channukah on 16 December at Sargon and Silvana's home finishing off over a lovely meal after Silvana lit the 5 candles. Purim in March while Ian was in South Africa. He joined our old congregation, Beit Yeshua to celebrated PURIM.

Our big family news is that our daughter living in Ghana was expecting our first granddaughter in March. We decided that Ian would go to South Africa where she was going to give birth for three weeks.  Penny came out for the actual birth on the 8 March. She would then stay on to help Bronwyn with our grandson Joshua for six weeks before they returned to Ghana. Ian celebrated Purim with our old congregation Beit Yeshua who together with Jews for Jesus put on an excellent play written by one of their new missionaries while Penny taught our various home groups on Purim. Our daughter produced a bonny little girl, Emily Nicol who is adored by her big brother Joshua.

On Ian's return to the UK, he lead a number of Passover Seders. On Erev Pesach we enjoyed our first Passover meal at Rose's new home in Chorley. The next day we held a very successful Passover in the Northallerton Town Hall with over 50 people in attendance from a number of different denominations as can be seen in the photograph.

Sunday 1st April, the day after the Shabbat is when 1st Fruits, Bikkurim started with the counting of the Omer for seven Sabbaths. This meant with Passover falling on a Sabbath that for the first time in many years, fifty days later Shavuot and Pentecost fell on the same day, a Sunday! Orthodox Judaism takes the first day of Matzot 15 Nissan as the Sabbath so Shavuot always falls on 6 Sivan. If the weekly Sabbath is used as in Christianity it always falls on a Sunday, Penecost.

Sadly Ian and Philippa were going to lead a Passover at a Catholic Retreat centre down south where we had lead one previously, but due to a tragic death, it was cancelled. We however did have a lovely family Passover meal with a cousin of Philippa's  and friends at the end of Feast of Matzot.
At Ark
In mid May six of us who are studying in Yeshiva Shuvu, a Messianic Judaism school attended the Shuvu 2018 conference in La Louviere outside Brussels for 4 wonderful days. Standing in front of Beth TorahYeshua's Ark with the praying figure is the UK contingent with Talmidim from Holland and Italy. The teaching on The Kingdom of Heaven by Rabbi Shapiro, the fellowship and the food was all wonderful. You can see Ian carrying the Torah scroll and joining the men dancing at https://vimeo.com/269403095

We are know at the end of May going into June with the US embassy now opened with more embassies moving to Jerusalem. The truth about the Gaza uprising on the border of Israel are coming out that they were anything but peaceful. With Israel taking out most of the Iranian military sites based in Syria after being attacked from Syria and Trump cancelling the Iranian deal, Iran has suddenly gone quiet. We could even be seeing something similar to North Korea happening to Iran. When one faces up to a bully and is not intimidated, then the bully runs for cover. This is what President Trump and Netanyahu have being doing with the bully Iran.Sunshine

As we enter our summer months here in the UK we are enjoying an unusually pleasant May. Penny and Philippa were enjoying the sunshine with Gemma after doing some gardening.

Shalom in Yeshua Our Messiah

The Torah is Unique

The Torah was given to Moses as God’s Scribe for him to copy down exactly as God dictated in His Presence. These first five books of the Bible are totally unique in the world! There is no other writings that can come any where close to these five Books of Moses including the rest of the Bible! They are the most accurately copied documents in the world as attested to by the Dead Sea findings.

How can I make such a declaration?

God wrote the Ten Commandments or in Hebrew Aseret HaDevarim, Ten Words/Statements on the two stone tablets as stated in Exodus 32:16 And the tables were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, graven upon the tables. These Ten Statements, Aseret HaDevarim summarised the whole of Torah. So all 613 commandments in the Torah can be fitted under these Ten Statements as chapter headings. The two stone tablets were kept in the Ark of Testimony in the Holiest Place and are proof of the Covenant made with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as ratified by God on Mt Sinai and recorded by Moses, the Scribe of God. Hence the Torah is at the core of Israel and the Jewish people. It defines who they are as bearing witness to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Even right up to today, the Torah is central to Jewish worship and lifestyle especially the more orthodox Jews.

The opening words of the Gospel of John “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and was God.” points directly to these Ten Words that represent the whole of Torah that is now the living Torah, Yeshua the Messiah. Just as Yeshua is unique so is the Torah unique as it points to Him. Yeshua himself declares the uniqueness of the Torah when he states in Matthew 5:18 (KJV) For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. A more Hebraic translation is (TLV) Amen, I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter (yod י) or serif shall ever pass away from the Torah until all things come to pass. So every single letter carries significance, and even the spaces in between the letters! If God promises that He will never change a word of the Torah, then every word in the Torah mirrors the truth of God Himself, and therefore the basis of existence[i]. Thus the Torah is not affected by changing situations or environments and is absolute as God. In Maimonides' 13 Principles of Faith it states:
This Torah that Moses transcribed from the Almighty is unique and there will never be another. One must neither add to it nor subtract from it, be it the Written Law or the Oral Law. As it stated: "Neither add to it nor subtract from it" (Deuteronomy 13:1).

The Torah was not given by inspiration of the Holy Spirit as was given to the Prophets (Navim) and the author of the Writings (Kehuvim) that make up the rest of the Tanach, the Hebrew Scriptures. This is stated by God Himself in Numbers 12:6-8 “Hear now My words!” He said. “When there is a prophet of Adonai, I reveal Myself in a vision, I speak to him in a dream. 7 Not so with My servant Moses. In all My house, he is faithful. 8 I speak with him face to face, plainly and not in riddles. He even looks at the form of Adonai! Why then were you not afraid to speak against My servant Moses?

Even the four Gospel and the Book of Acts can be classified as oral Torah as they are the eye witness testimonies of Yeshua, the Messiah. Whereas, the Epistles can be considered as instructions or Halakah (the way to walk) given by the Apostles to the disciples, talmidim. The Book of Revelation is the closest document to the Torah as it was given directly to John while on the island of Patmos by direct revelation of Yeshua of the Last Days, although he wrote it down as inspired by the Holy Spirit but it comes with a warning. Rev 22:18-19:
I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book. If anyone adds to them, God shall add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his share in the Tree of Life and the Holy City, which are written in this book.

Confirmation of this uniqueness can be found in what has been referred to as the ‘Bible Code’ or the Equidistance Letter Sequential encoded in the Torah. This would breaks down if any letters were added or left out of the Torah. There are 79,847 words in a Torah scroll, and 304,805 letters that are directly from the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The Hebrew alphabet represent the character of Creator God, as they are the very first thing He created through the alep tav úא the middle word in Genesis 1:1:

בראשׁית ברא אלהים את השׁמים ואת הארץ׃

Have you ever wondered why there is no record of Yeshua ever writing down anything during his time of ministry, except in the sand? Who wrote the Ten Commandments (or more correctly the Ten Words (Davar))?
An excellent book by Asher Intrater “Who had Lunch with Abraham?” makes a convincing case that Yeshua’s finger wrote them (Ex 31:18, Dt 9:10). So if Yeshua wrote anything down during His ministry, He would be breaking His own Torah that He had written at Mt Sinai! Since, it states in Deuteronomy 12:32 (Devarim 13:1)
All this word (Davar) which I command you, that shall ye observe to do; thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it (JPS). So if He had written anything unless it was a quote from Torah, He would have been adding to Torah.

These Ten Commandments/Words/Statements are like chapter headings under which all 613 commandments in the Torah fit. Ten is the number representing ‘a complete representation of the whole’. Consider 10 righteous men in Abraham’s plea to God to save Sodom (Ex 18:32) or the 10 plagues of Egypt for example.

ח CHET

The letter ח Chet has a 'ch' sound coming from the back of the throat like the word 'loch'. With a Gemartia of 8 it is associated with going beyond seven, symbolising man's ability to transcend physical existence. The number 8 figures in many places such as circumcision on the eight day, eight threads of the tzitzis, Shemini Atzeres, the Eight Day following Sukkot and in Yeshua being raised on the eight day, the day after the Sabbath.

In Paleo Hebrew it's pictogram is a

fence that separates and protects. Imagine a Torah scroll rolled out to form a circle with the two handles forming a gate. The only way to get into it is to study the Torah until we find the entrance where Yeshua is the gate. This makes me think of the Tabernacle in the Wilderness. The Heart of God is the Torah, which is His Ketubah, a Marriage Covenant with Israel and His Love Letter. Since the first letter of the Torah is a ב beit and the last letter a ל lamed which gives the word לב Lev meaning heart. The two Tablets were kept in the Ark of the Testimony in the Holy of Holies at the centre of the Tabernacle. Like the rib cage protects the heart/lungs.

Some Examples of Hebrew words beginning with ח chet are given below.

ח ן chen meaning grace which protects us from sin,
ח י chay – life, 'is made from 3 *(ו vav )6=18 body, soul and spirit,
ח יה chayah – beast = satan who tries to take life

ח טא chet – to miss the mark of Torah is sin.

You may wonder how apparently different words can be related to one another?
