Calling all Shooting Instructors …
Please check your licence expiry date.

The NSRA Licence that accompanies the YPS Tutor's Diploma is valid for five years. It may be renewed if you have been regularly using the qualification so keeping a record or logbook is very important. The minimum level of use is 25 separate occasions over the 5-year period with at least 5 in the 12 months prior to renewal.

Applications for renewal must be made to the NSRA before your Licence expires. The NSRA do not issue reminders. After a gap of anything more than a week or so you are likely to have to repeat the course to get a new licence.

To renew, write, quoting your Licence number and enclosing your logbook and a cheque for £10.00, payable to "NSRA", to: NSRA, Lord Roberts Centre, Bisley Camp, Brookwood, WOKING Surrey, GU24 0NP.

If you want your logbook back, ask for it; otherwise it may be retained and a new one issued. (Do remember to update your postal address, 'phone number and email address if any have changed).

The renewal of an NSRA RCO, Club Instructor or Coach licence also requires evidence of continuing satisfactory performance of the relevant role. This is normally provided by a letter from the secretary of your NSRA-affiliated shooting club. Again, it is important to apply before your existing licence expires. Remember too that you must keep either an RCO or YPS Tutor licence current in order for a Club Instructor or Coach licence to be valid.
