Congratulations to...
* The Iceland expedtion who set off on their adventure on Tuesday morning from Gatwick - all very excited and raring to go
* The Tanzania expedition who are working hard on finishing off the new building at the Iragua Medical Centre - follow them at
* All four Jamboree Units who are having an absolute blast out in Japan - keep up with their activities at - and watch the replay of the opening ceremony at 
* The Uganda expedition on receiving a generous £500 donation towards their costs from the Royal Society of St George a few evenings before they depart
* Ferny Crofts staff and management on all their hard work over the past few weeks during a very busy period. I wandered round the site today and every leader I spoke to was really positive about their visit

Scout Headquarters Membership Subscription 2016
Scout HQ have announced that their membership subscription for March 2016 will be £25.50 per head (less 50p for prompt payment). This will be based on the January 2016 Census figure for UNDER 18 YEARS MEMBERS ONLY. From 2016 no Adult member (including Network) will pay HQ membership subscriptions. Hampshire County will announce our membership subscription rate and criteria after the October Executive meeting.
Information regarding this change in membership subscription policy will be communicated to all Groups and Districts over the next few months, and we will be holding a workshop on this at the County Conference in October.

Scouting & Guiding Activities at the National Museum of the Royal Navy
Hello, I am the Engagement and Learning Officer for the National Museum of the Royal Navy which covers the National Museum and HMS Victory in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, Explosion Museum of Naval Firepower, Royal Navy Submarine Museum in Gosport and Royal Marines Museum in Eastney. From September we will be offering some fantastic activities and sleepovers especially for scouting and guide groups, ranging from sleeping over at explosion museum and visits to the museums designed especially to link with your badges at a special rate. Calling all Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and the Scouts Network - we have arranged a special event dedicated to you! Come join us on Sunday 27th September for a wild day out learning about all about our fascinating animals. Earn yourself a special Marwell Zoo badge on our animal trail before getting crafty in our secret garden. There’s even a chance to get involved in our interesting wildlife workshops. Sound like something you’d be interested in? Check for more information and hurry - book by 1st August. Be prepared, It’s going to be wild!
TA Events
Calling all  current and aspiring TAs.  The biennial TA evenings for 2015 have been arranged! Please put the  following dates into your diary:

This will be an opportunity to take part in TA workshops and receive information and updates .

This will be an opportunity for LTMs to meet together to take part in LTM workshops and prepare for changes to the wood badge recommendation processes. Discussions will take place with all DCs to ensure every district has an LTM representing them.
Adult Training
Details reflecting where we are with bookings for training modules for September - November 2015 can be found on the County website.
We usually stop at 24 delegates on each, and ideally need a minimum of 10 delegates to run most modules (residential a minimum of 15) – please ensure you book on Adult Training Modules in plenty of time to prevent cancellation!

Can you help?
Hi Everyone
On Thursday 27th August we are running another Scout event at Naomi House, Sutton Scotney. The Caterpillar Camp is in the afternoon from 2pm to 4pm and we start setting from just after 12pm.
Any member of the Scout associations over 14 is able to help. If you have an activity you would like to bring with you that would be good or you can help with any of the other activities.
At the last "Camp" Explorers from Romsey's media team were there to help. They all had a good time and we were really pleased to have them with us.
Due to holiday's, camps and car fest some of our regularly helpers will not be there.
So this is an ideal opportunity to involve others in this very interesting and rewarding project.
Can people let me know asap if they can attend or contact me if they have any questions.
Please note there are no direct public transport links to Naomi House.

Creative Activities
The Scout Association are exploring the options and possibilities of providing national creative activities events for young people.
We want to make it easier to young people to access fun and exciting activities.
'Creative activities' can mean lots of things, and we'd like to hear your ideas. These activities can be performances or shows, art, music, or involve creative thinking 'outside-the-box'.
The event could be a camp or weekend away, online tutorials, or anything in between.
This survey aims to get as many opinions as possible from Scouts, Explorers and 18-25 year-olds. Please fill out this survey and send the link on to all young people aged 10-25 in Scouting who you know.

I have an old skipper boat which I no longer have any use. Just wondered if your sea scout group would like it for free? It probably requires a bit of attention ( nothing major no holes!) no charge just collect from Rownhams Southampton.

Thanksgiving Service for Peter Ingram
Peter was County Secretary in West Sussex for many years as well as being a retired member of the Scout Association and was involved in many National Events on the Activity side. He died in June this year and West Sussex are organising a Thanksgiving Service on Friday 18th September at 2.30 at the South of England Showground, Ardingly.

We would be grateful if you could pass this to people in your County who might have known Peter and would like to join us that afternoon.
