County Membership subscription 2016
As you are aware, from 2016 only young people under the age of 18 years will pay HQ membership subscriptions, and we have already advised us that their fee will be £25.50 per head (less 50p if paid on time). This equates to a 0% increase on the total 2015 figure.

At their meeting on Tuesday 13th October, Hampshire County the County Executive Committee, agreed to adopt the same payment policy.

Therefore the County membership fee for 2016 will be £9.70 per head, payable by all members under the age of 18 years only. This also equates to a 0%  (zero percent) increase on the total 2015 figure. Please note this is the second year in a row the County Membership has not increased.

The 25th season of the Pro-Badge Training Scheme started on the weekend of 30th October – 1st November 2015. We ran courses for both Cub Scouts and Scouts.

The Our Adventure Challenge award course for the Cub Scouts had lots of activities included archery, bouldering, low ropes, lighting fires, rope making, and a hike on the Sunday morning.

The Scouts took part in the Chef badge which saw the patrols cooking lunch and dinner over open fires on Saturday along with their breakfast on the Sunday morning in the kitchen, as well as learning about menu planning, fire lighting and camp hygiene.

On our next weekend in November we are running Navigator Stage 2 badge for the Cub Scouts and Pioneer badge for the Scouts. We have places left both courses. For further info or to book a place please visit the website .

Captain Scott to the South Pole

Dear Hampshire Scouts,
I am the Events Manager at Gilbert White & The Oates Collections, where we celebrate the life and work of Gilbert White the Naturalist, as well as having galleries dedicated to Frank Oates an African explorer and Captain Lawrence Oates, who made a fatal trip with Captain Scott to the South Pole in 1912.
Having worked with a local scout group to help support one of our fundraising events ,we have put together an exclusive offer for scouts to come and visit us! Please find attached marketing material for an offer open to ALL scout groups throughout Hampshire and further afield! If there is anyway this could be publicised on your website or any material you produce that would be greatly appreciated! Please let me know if this is possible.

I hope to hear from you soon.
Kind Regards
Joshua Godfrey
