Celebrate Holi, the Festival of Colors, with CWRU!

Join CWRU for a colorful dance party this Saturday to celebrate Holi! Holi is known as the festival of colors as celebrations consist of throwing colored powder and water at others.

Originating in Hindu legend, Holi traditionally commemorated the act of the dark blue god Krishna applying color to the face of his soul mate.

CWRU’s event will feature lots of colored powder, Indian street food, games, music and more!

Holi will take place on Freiberger Field at 1:00 pm Saturday, April 6 and all are welcome to participate in this free event! The first 100 guests with a CWRU ID will receive a free kite, and the first 400 guests with a CWRU ID will receive a free tee shirt!

Though primarily celebrated in India and Nepal, Holi is observed in many other countries throughout Southeast Asia and around the world.

CWRU's Holi celebration is sponsored by The Center for International Affairs, The Office of Multicultural Affairs, the Office of the Provost and First Year Experience. It's made possible with the help of the Undergraduate Indian Students Association, SATRANG, iClub, and other student organizations.
