Join Us for the 2016 International Achievement Dinner with Guest Speaker Ambassador Richard L. Armitage

The Center for International Affairs invites you to join us on Monday, April 11th for a celebratory evening honoring Case Western Reserve University's contributors to international education. The event will begin with a reception at 5:30 p.m. and continue with dinner and a program featuring awards, a formal recognition from the Chair of the Ohio Board of Regents, and our guest speaker Ambassador Richard L. Armitage.

Richard L. Armitage, former Deputy Secretary of State from 2001-2005, worked hand in hand with General Colin Powell to shape, direct, and lead U.S. foreign policy during one of the most challenging eras in modern history. After speaking at the event, Mr. Armitage will hold an open Q&A session.

The International Achievement Dinner is open to all members of the CWRU and greater Cleveland community. Tickets can be purchased online. We hope to see you there!

CWRU Delegation Accepts Heiskell Award at Conference in Davis, California

On March 11th, a delegation of Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) administrators, comprised of William A. "Bud" Baeslack III, Provost and Executive Vice President; David Fleshler, Vice Provost for International Affairs; and Molly Watkins, Executive Director for International Affairs, attended the Institute of International Education's (IIE) Annual Best Practices Conference and Heiskell Awards Presentation in Davis, California.

Case Western Reserve University and Florida International University were named co-winners of the 2015 Heiskell Award in the category of Internationalizing the Campus in January. Provost Baeslack accepted the award from Allan Goodman, President and CEO of IIE, and spoke briefly about what the award means to the CWRU community in terms of validating our internationalization efforts.

The Conference, open to IIE's more than 1,400 higher education institutions, included panels outlining strategies and best practices. Flesher was invited to participate in the "Strategic Planning for Comprehensive Internationalization: Best Practices for Internationalizing the Campus" session as a panelist.

CWRU's internationalization efforts were featured in the Spring 2016 IIEnetworker, which was distributed to all conference attendees and IIE member institutions. An online copy of the publication can be accessed here
