The Benefits of
Studying Abroad
 

 
Studying abroad provides students with life-changing experiences as well as various academic and career benefits:

  • 97% of students who study abroad find employment within 12 months of graduation, vs. 49% of the general college population
  • 84% of students feel that studying abroad helped them build valuable job skills, such as cultural training, tolerance for ambiguity, adaptability and communication
  • 70% say they are more satisfied with their jobs because of their study abroad experience
  • 90% report acceptance into their first or second choice of graduate school
  • Students who study abroad earn 25% higher salaries than those who don't
  • Students who study abroad are 19% more likely to graduate on time

Study Abroad Scholarships

German Academic Exchange Service Grant
This program provides scholarships to attend a broad range of summer courses at German universities which focus mainly on German language and literary, cultural, political and economic aspects of modern and contemporary Germany. Applications are due by Sunday, December 1!

think: global Scholarship
The CWRU Center for International Affairs is excited to offer the think:global need-based study abroad scholarship! Awards of $500 - $1,500 are available to CWRU students! Applications are due by Sunday, December 1. Find out more about the think: global scholarship and how to apply here.
