Celebrate International Education Week
& Get Your Passport!

November 18-22 is International Education Week and the Center for International Affairs has several opportunities to help you celebrate and plan for your study abroad experience!

Monday, November 18 - Kickoff Event
Enjoy free coffee, snacks and giveaways from 9:00 - 11:00 am on the Binary Walkway!

Tuesday, November 19 - Naturalization Ceremony
Join the celebration as immigrants to the U.S. become new citizens in this special event from 10:00  - 11:00 am in the Thwing Ballroom.

Wednesday, November 20 - Voices from Around the Globe
Interested in studying abroad in Cuba? Learn about life and culture in the country from Damaris Punales-Alpizar, Associate Professor in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures from 4:00 - 5:00 pm in the Dampeer Room of KSL. 

Thursday, November 21 - Passport Drive
Prepare for your study abroad by having a free photo ID taken and printed and submitting your U.S. passport application to an authorized agent from 3:00 - 5:00 pm in the Tomlinson Hall Lobby! The Office of Education Abroad will be giving out one passport scholarship during this event!

Friday, November 22 - The (New?) Israeli Government
Join the Center for Policy Studies for this Public Affairs Discussion Lunch featuring Peter J. Haas, Abba Hillel Silver Professor Emeritus of Jewish Studies from 12:30 - 1:30 pm in KSL.

Friday, November 22 - Study Abroad Peer Advising
Find out what it's really like to study abroad as a CWRU student during our walk-in peer advising from 1:00 - 2:00 pm in Tomlinson 143!


Study Abroad Scholarships
  • think: global Scholarship
    • The CWRU Center for International Affairs is excited to offer the think: global need-based study abroad scholarship! Awards of $500 - $1,500 are available to CWRU students! Applications are due Sunday, December 1.
  • German Academic Exchange Service Grant
    • This program provides scholarships to attend a broad range of summer courses at German universities which focus mainly on German language and literary, cultural, political and economic aspects of modern and contemporary Germany. Applications are due Sunday, December 1.
  • Taiwan Engineering Summer Research Internship
    • Apply for a free summer engineering internship in Taiwan. Scholarships to cover airfare and accommodations are also available. Applications are due Friday, January 10.
