Study Abroad and Service: Opportunities to Volunteer Abroad
Many students who study abroad also volunteer as part of their international experience, and the Office of Education Abroad can help interested students find study abroad programs that offer service-learning or volunteer opportunities. Service learning is offered on study abroad programs from South America to New Zealand, from the United Kingdom to South Africa, and beyond.
In Buenos Aires, Argentina, students can focus on service-learning projects in community health, at-risk youth, advocacy for the disabled, or homelessness. In Dunedin, New Zealand, students can participate in environmental volunteering opportunities. In Cape Town, South Africa, students volunteer at a nearby informal settlement that receives no government services like water or electricity. At the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom, students can specialize in the Leadership and Service pathway which teaches sustainable leadership to promote environmental care and social justice.
Many opportunities to continue your service abroad exist for all CWRU students. Make an appointment to learn your options today!
