Farewell Lisa Brown
The Office of Education Abroad bids a fond farewell to Lisa Brown, our first official Study Abroad Advisor. Lisa joined Case Western Reserve University in September of 2011 and has been instrumental in establishing the solid education abroad program at CWRU.
Lisa will be leaving CWRU to work at Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia and be closer to her husband, who teaches Geology 25 minutes away at James Madison University. At Mary Baldwin, she will be the Assistant Director of the Spencer Center for Civic and Global Engagement. She will be advising study abroad students, coordinating international student orientation, and teaching English as a Second Language.
We asked Lisa what her favorite part of working at CWRU was, and she said it has definitely been working with the students. She replied, "CWRU students are intelligent, passionate, driven, and responsible; they are just a delight to work with. I'll miss them so much."
Well, Lisa Brown, we will miss you, too! If anyone would like to stop by and wish her farewell in person, Lisa will be in the Office of Education Abroad in Tomlinson Monday
during normal business hours until July 11th

For over 100 years RADA has specialized in professional training for the dramatic arts. RADA students spend very little time sitting around in lectures: the skills of the actor, the stage manager, the scenic artist need to be practiced to achieve expertise. The staff combines excellence as teachers, with continued engagement in the profession: winning awards, directing movies, publishing books and working with major producers, both in the UK and abroad. CWRU has partnered with RADA to offer a full spring semester course of study, in London. This is a CWRU "IN" program, which means students will register through CWRU for this semester abroad. Winter Break Apps are Open
Earn 3 credits while studying in Costa Rica, Ecuador, or India. CWRU offers three exciting opportunities for you to study abroad on a short-term program over your winter break. Students will register for the Fall semester for the 3-credit class. The courses will meet in the fall, prior to the trip over the break. There will also be a class meeting early in the spring semester. Courses count for Global and Cultural Diversity credit for students in Arts and Sciences and Humanities credit for students in Engineering. These courses are open to all students, although it should be noted that the Ecuador course is on a wait list at this time.
