The Center for International Affairs: 2015 in Review

As 2015 comes to a close, let us thank you for the incredible work, dedication, and support you have shown. Without a doubt, 2015 has been one of our most successful years. Since the Center for International Affairs opened in 2011, we have collaborated with the campus community to set aggressive goals and sketch the framework for projects and plans to meet them. We’re proud to report that this year we not only met and exceeded many of the original goals from Phase I of our Strategic Plan for Internationalization, but built upon various accomplishments to develop and kick-off Phase II.

Over the last year we have celebrated numerous accomplishments. These are just some of the many successes achieved this year:

2015 was a memorable year for all of us at Case Western Reserve University and the Center for International Affairs. We’re proud of our accomplishments, excited about our future, and grateful to you for your continued support. All of us at the Center for International Affairs wish you and your loved ones a wonderful holiday season and a happy new year.

Scholarships Available for Students to Study in China: Applications Due January 15th

Koby Picker, CWRU 2015 Chinese Scholarship Winner, visits the Great Wall while studying at Peking University in Beijing.

Case Western Reserve University is once again the proud recipient of two Chinese Government Scholarships for undergraduate students that provide fully funded study in China. The scholarships will cover tuition and accommodation fees, living allowances, inter-city travel subsidies, and medical insurance for an academic year.

“Last year the opening of the scholarship process coincided with the announcement of a reciprocal visa agreement between the United States and the People’s Republic of China,” says Autumn Beechler Stebing, Assistant Director of Education Abroad. “We are excited that our students once again have this opportunity to take full advantage of the growing relationship between both countries.”

Students interested in applying for one of the scholarships should contact the
Office of Education Abroad. The application deadline is January 15th, so we encourage all interested students to get started on the application right away!
