Center for International Affairs
Offers Online Support for Campus Community
The staff of the Center for International Affairs is working remotely in response in the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and has transitioned its operations to provide remote support to international and study abroad students as well as the rest of the campus community.
The Office of International Student Services (ISS) is helping international students adjust to remote learning and navigate the immigration-related changes the outbreak has caused around the world. ISS advisors are meeting with students online during virtual advising hours each week and are available to speak with students on the phone or via Zoom by appointment. For more information on ISS changes related to COVID-19, visit the ISS COVID-19 Updates page.
The Office of Education Abroad is also providing virtual advising appointments via Google Hangouts or Zoom and will be implementing drop-in advising hours online later this month. Study Abroad advisors have been assisting students whose programs needed to be cancelled because of the outbreak and continue to help students plan future study abroad experiences. More information on study abroad changes can be found on the Study Abroad COVID-19 Updates page.
The best way for faculty and staff to reach the Center right now is through email. You can contact an individual staff member or email

Important Message
The #YouAreWelcomeHereCWRU campaign has been an important part of Case Western Reserve University’s culture for more than three years now, showcasing the university’s values of inclusiveness and diversity. It began has part of the national #YouAreWelcomeHere movement to send a message to international students that U.S. campuses are welcoming, friendly, diverse and safe.
As many of our international students have returned to their home countries in recent weeks, the Center for International Affairs is inviting all faculty, staff and students to help them feel connected to the CWRU community by recording short video messages for a new #YouAreWelcomeHereCWRU video.
You can describe what #YouAreWelcomeHereCWRU means to you, why you value being part of this community, share some words of encouragement and support for our international students, and/or make a #YouAreWelcomeHereCWRU sign and just say the words “you are welcome here CWRU” out loud!
