International Student Population

Nursing Professor Awarded Fulbright Grant to Kenya
Dr. Deborah Lindell, a professor in the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing, is spending the academic year at the Turkana Basin Institute (TBI) in Kenya after receiving a teaching and research award from the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program.
Dr. Lindell arrived in Kenya in mid-September and will be staying through April 2022. Her project is titled "Advancing Nursing Education in Northwest Kenya."
She shares advice for other faculty interested in applying for the Fulbright program and details about her experience so far at the link below.

CWRU to Begin Collaboration with
UAE University
The Center for International Affairs in collaboration with the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, has received funding from the U.S. Department of State for Case Western Reserve University to explore opportunities to partner with United Arab Emirates University (UAEU).
The U.S. Mission to the UAE grant will allow the universities to develop educational relationships and interactions that could include two-way faculty exchange, joint research and publication, and dual-degree programs.
The initial goal is to establish academic activities and faculty/student collaborations in social sciences and humanities, involving multiple schools and departments across campus.

Student Global Perspective
Paola Giammattei
International Student from El Salvador
Paola Giammattei is a chemical engineering major from El Salvador and very active on campus. She shares why she chose to study at Case Western Reserve University, and how her experience has changed her view of the world and given her a new sense of confidence as she plans for her future.
