We hope you had a good Christmas and New Year break. Here is an update from Loughton Parish Council of recent and forthcoming events and activities.
January 2013 meeting of Loughton Parish Council
The next meeting of Loughton Parish Council will take place at 8pm on Monday 21st January 2012 at Great Holm Community Centre, Kensington Drive, Great Holm. The agenda for the meeting has been published on the parish website here.
Budget for 2013-14
The Loughton Parish Council budget for the financial year ending 31st March 2014 was approved by the Council as per the draft budget published on the Parish website for consultation. The Precept Leaflet for 2013-14, which will be sent out by Milton Keynes Council with Council Tax bills to all dwellings in the Parish in February/March 2013, has been finalised and you can see a copy here

Loughton Parish Council has a new Parish Clerk
On 2nd January 2013, Brian Barton started work as the new Parish Clerk for the Parish. Our current Clerk, Jenny Wilcox is currently busy with handover and will be leaving us on 31st January 2013. Brian has the CILCA (Certificate in Local Council Administration) qualification and is an experienced local government officer. He is employed 28 hours a week and is the responsible financial officer of the Council. More details about Brian are available here.
Online residents' opinion survey for 2013
Loughton Parish Council has launched a new online residents' opinion survey. You can access this survey here. The results of the survey will be used to note the local matters of concern and local issues and to inform policy making and all residents are warmly invited to use it to sound off on matters of concern to them.
The Jubilee Graveyard
The new Graveyard Management Committee (consisting of 2 members of the Church and 2 members of the Parish Council) have been meeting to manage the development of the new graveyard. Among their tasks is to decide the charges for burial and cremation plots and you can read about their discussions here. It is hoped the graveyard will be ready by the Spring.
Large grant for play area
The Parish Council has been successful in obtaining a large grant to fund a complete renewal of the children's play area at the Loughton Sports Ground. WREN have awarded over £70k towards the project - the funds coming from local landfill tax charges. More info
Conservation Area Review
Loughton Parish Council has commissioned a review of the Loughton Conservation Area statement. A change to the boundaries of the area are being considered, as well as whether an Article 4(2) direction should be issued. More info
