June Newsletter

Enjoy this collection of articles from this past month

We all hope your summer is off to a great start.  Here is a collection of articles for your enjoyment and to add to the summer reading program. Enjoy!

Adopt a Cat Month

June is Adopt a Cat Month. This national initiative is a way to remind everyone that their local shelter and rescues have lots of friendly, loving cats from which to choose.

If you are planing on adding a new cat to your house, check out last months newsletter and our websites video section for some helpful advice.

Summertime Fun

What kind of activities do you have planned with your dog this summer?  If you are planning on hiking with your dog, taking your dog swimming or having your dog join you on the next road trip, check out these articles for some helpful advice.

If your looking for a local spot to take your dog swimming, check out the dog park area at the Windsor Lake.  This fenced off location can be found on the north-east side of the lake.

When Disasters Strike - Use Facebook to Find Your Pet

When a pet is lost, we know about checking with local shelters, veterinarians, and other local authorities, but we can now turn to Facebook.  Local Facebook pages are quickly being set up to help reunite lost pets with their owners after a natural disaster.

Pets Improve Our Lives

There always seems to be some new study or article showing the great benefits of pets.  Pets help our minds, moods, health, learning, and on and on.  Here is a collection of recent articles on the healthful benefits of pets.

Heartworm Prevention Reminders

Are you like us and  have trouble remembering to give your pet heartworm prevention each month?  Would a monthly call or text be helpful?  If so, call us and we'll sign you up to receive a courtesy call or courtesy text each month, reminding you it's time to give your dog their monthly dose of heartworm prevention.

Remember, there is no heartworm season.  Heartworm prevention needs to be given to your dog every month, year round.

Dogs Going Social

We have our own social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, Linked-in, but what about our dogs and other pets?  Recently different social sites have been launched to bring people and pets together on the web.  Here is a sample of some of them:

Dog and Cat Truths

Dogs can learn 250 words. Cat's don't always land on their feet. Check out this slideshow for 25 other fun facts and myths about cats and dogs.

Happy Birthday Rooney!
