It is with deep sadness that the Abington Lions announce the passing into life eternal of our long-time member and friend, John Holmes.
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John R. Holmes Sr. of Rockland, Massachusetts, born in Littleton, New Hampshire, who passed away on April 28, 2022 at the age of 81.
He was predeceased by: his son Greg Holmes. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Holmes; his brother Michael Holmes (Mary) of Greenville, ME; his children, Andrea Holmes Loughlin (Paul) of Rockland Ma, John Holmes Jr. (Michelle) of Abington Ma, Douglas Holmes (Deb) of Whitman Ma and Elizabeth Carmignani; his grandchildren, Nicole, Jessica, Mike, Nick, Mary, Rachelle, Jake, Meaghan, Victoria, Hailey, Jenna, Grace, Tyler, Abbie, Kathleen, Ryan, John and Rebecca; and his great grandchildren, Cameron, Ryan, Avah, Carly, Rylee, Helena, Lila, Madelyn, Maddox, Dominic and Timothy.
Lions will be assembling at 5:30 at the Sullivan Funeral Home, 45 E. Water Street in Rockland, on Thursday, May 5th at 5:30 pm to conduct a necrology service for John at 5:45.
