Week Two: Light

Christmastime is a time of gifts. More than just the boxes we open, scripture shows us the real gifts of Christmas: the ones that come through Jesus Christ. Join us, and unwrap gifts that can’t be contained in a box, gift bag, or envelope. Gifts that will change your life.

Scripture for the Week: John 1:4-14
Psalm for the Day: Luke 1:68-79

PRAYER FOR THE WEEK

Merciful God, who sent your messengers the prophets to preach repentance and prepare the way for our salvation: Give us grace to heed their warnings and forsake our sins, that we may greet with joy the coming of Jesus Christ our Redeemer; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

OPPORTUNITIES TO GIVE

Christmas Adopt-A-Family
This Christmas, we are helping the AFL-CIO by sponsoring families who need help during the holidays. Please select a person to buy a gift for by picking up a slip of paper. The slip of paper will tell you who you are buying a gift for, and what gift to buy. Then, bring the gift back to church, wrapped and with the slip of paper by next Sunday, December 13th.

MWSU Food Drive
The MWSU Campus has a food pantry to help students in need be able to eat. Many times just paying tuition and rent uses up most of their income. There are times when the cafeteria is not open and a student cannot afford to eat out. Your donation of any of the following items will support students in their education and help the graduate with less debt: canned meats (tuna and salmon), crackers, peanut butter, canned ravioli, tuna helper, evaporated milk, canned fruit, pre-made jello/pudding/etc., cereal/oatmeal, pasta/sauce, shampoo/conditioner, bar soap, deodorant, body wash, razors, diapers, baby food.

Clair Giving
God wants to use you as an answer to our prayers. Your gifts help make the vision of Clair Church possible. To donate electronically go to clairchurch.com/give or visit the giving kiosk in the main hallway.

Hat & Mitten Tree
The children of Clair Church ask for your help collecting hats and mittens to keep people warm this winter. The mitten tree is located just outside the northwest corner of the sanctuary, in the hallway between the Fellowship Hall and Sanctuary.
