Anderson Farms Field Trip

We had a lovely time out at Anderson Farms in Erie on July 9th. It was very hot but the fun tour made up for it. Thanks to those who made it out, and to Lark Rambo for helping organize the event! For more pictures including proof of our close encounter with Miles the buffalo, please see the "photos" section on our website.

Saturday August 10th, 10am

Due to predicted low attendance for our Conservation Day at Wonderland, we will now be doing a simple park cleanup.  Same place and time but we will weed the front flower bed and pick up any trash and sticks/branches we find instead.  No need to RSVP, just come on over if you have time and want to roll up your sleeves for an hour or so.

Saturday September 14th, 10am

We are excited to be in the beginning stages of planning our September "Adopt a Soldier" event.  We found a cool organization that has some ideas/suggestions for ways in which we can bring some cheer and love to a deployed soldier.  Possibilities include: decorating Christmas stockings and pillowcases, organizing a sock drive as well as straightforward letters and coloring pages.  If you are interested in being on the "Adopt a Soldier" planning committee, please email us.
This month we say goodbye and good luck to our Overseer of Environmental Projects, Dan Yankowiak as he moves away to begin a new adventure.  Dan agreed to the position after having met me only once and blasted well past my highest expectations immediately.  As the horticulturalist for the City of Boulder, he was my first face to face contact for our Wonderland Park adoption.  At the time, he was already juggling more than I could ever attempt myself and added our little organization to the mix without hesitation.  He has encouraged and supported our work and helped us build the beginnings of some lasting relationships with the city.  Thank you Dan, for all of your hard work--we will miss you!

Want a Raising Little Heroes tshirt to wear to events and around town?  Let us know and we will order a few for you and your family members.  For more information, please see the "RLH tshirts" page on our website.  Order today!

We need your feedback as we begin to plan more events, so if you haven't already, please take a few moments to fill out our Family Survey.

Interested in being on our Advisory Board?  Want to be more involved in planning and pulling off our events?  You might want to consider checking out our "Volunteer Positions" page for information about available positions.  We have a great team, but we could use more help coming up with fun and interesting projects for our families.  Join our team now and be part of the excitement!

If you would like to be more involved but are not sure you want to commit to any of our available positions, we can always use committee help for individual projects.  If one of our upcoming projects looks particularly interesting to you, please consider contacting us about helping to run that specific event.
