Raising Little Heroes: August 2014

Alex's Lemonade Stand

On July 11th, Raising Little Heroes partnered with Lakeshore Athletic Club and sold lemonade for Alex's Lemonade Stand to raise money for childhood cancer research. Our goal was to raise $500. Thanks to all of our little heroes and the Leaders in Training at Lakeshore, we surpassed our goal and raised $761! We'd like to give a huge thanks to everyone at Lakeshore Athletic Club for their support! It was an amazing experience to see the childrens' effort and dedication to the cause.

The folks at Monkey Bizness are so impressed by our Little Heroes Club, they want to throw us a party for all of our hard work this summer! So, bring your Little Heroes Club chart and tell everyone about all the wonderfully helpful things you and yours have done all summer! As a reward, we'll all get to play at Monkey Bizness (no charge!). While we're there, we'll even learn how to loom in preparation for the our September event. Check out the evite for more details!

September 6th

Loomonade Stand

Get your rainbow looms out! We are partnering with MaxLoveProject which is a nonprofit organization that empowers families fighting childhood cancers and life-threatening conditions with whole-body wellness resources, education and research. Inspired by SuperMax Wilford, a seven-year-old superhero fighting brain cancer, MaxLove Project is a 100% volunteer-powered, grassroots nonprofit organization founded to help SuperKids thrive against cancer and life-threatening conditions. Their mission is to provide families fighting childhood cancers and life-threatening conditions with accessible, practical, and kid-friendly whole-body wellness. Max loves to loom, and wants to make the longest loom chain out there! We'll loom as much as our fingers can until September 6th then sell our looms at the Loomonade Stand on September 6th to raise money for the MaxLove Project. Stay tuned for details!
