Pillowcases for Soldiers

Thank you to those of you who were able to make it to our little gathering this past month. The kids created beautiful pillowcases that I'm sure will bring some cheer to the soldiers in hospitals who receive them. To be honest, if I were to do it again I would have everyone use fabric markers because the paint we used dries extremely stiff and rough BUT it was wonderful to see your kiddos pour their hearts into their creations. My contact at Operation Care Package assured me even the pillowcases that are too stiff to sleep comfortably on will be appreciated for the works of art they are and that the love that went into them will be felt. Thanks again!

Join us for our second year of filling Kits for Kids for Project C.U.R.E.!  Project C.U.R.E. is a company based in Centennial, CO that gathers surplus medical supplies and distributes them to communities in need all around the globe.  Kits for Kids is a great way to get our children involved in the invaluable work Project C.U.R.E. does.  It’s simple: we fill bags with items from the provided list of medicine cabinet items and Project C.U.R.E. gets them to communities all over the world.  If you plan to attend, please RSVP and see the donation sign up sheet to indicate what you plan to bring with you.  If you cannot attend the event, you can still help by donating items and/or spreading the word to family and friends about doing the same.  Please don't wait--we need all the help we can get for this one!

Saturday, March 8th
RLH's very first organized project, back when we were just a handful of families, was one of our favorites so we are doing it again this Spring: Baking for Firefighters!  We will all bake what we are able to before the event and then get together to package them up and hand deliver them to a nearby firehouse or two (or three or...).  If the firefighters have time, we will ask them for a tour while we are there.  Don't miss out on this easy, fun way to show some real local heroes how much we appreciate them.
Sunday, April 13th
We have committed to gathering an enthusiastic group of kiddos and parents to volunteer at the 5th annual Frank Shorter RACE4Kids' Health 5K in Broomfield. Race proceeds benefit Healthy Learning Paths, a Colorado, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  Their mission is to empower children by teaching wellness strategies for success in health, learning, and life.  Healthy Learning Paths serves all children, with a focus on early childhood and families with low income.  Come along with us and help make the race a success and cheer on the runners!

Interested in being on our Advisory Board?  Want to be more involved in planning and pulling off our events?  You might want to consider checking out our "Volunteer Positions" page for information about available positions.  We have a great team, but we could use more help coming up with fun and interesting projects for our families.  Join our team now and be part of the excitement!

If you would like to be more involved but are not sure you want to commit to any of our available positions, we can always use committee help for individual projects.  If one of our upcoming projects looks particularly interesting to you, please consider contacting us about helping to run that specific event.
