Santa Cruz Young Makers Club
Do you know someone between the ages of 8-18 who loves to tinker and create? If so, they may love the Young Makers Club held at the Downtown Branch Library on the second Tuesday of the month from 3 - 4:30pm.
Participants work together to design, create, and ultimately exhibit a youth-chosen project, aimed towards exhibiting at a showcase event like Maker Faire.
ScienceFlix is a wonderful e-resource from Scholastic for grades 5-9.  It includes videos, three reading levels, Spanish articles, read-aloud with word highlighting, and curriculum correlation.  Be sure to check out the Teacher Resources which include lesson plans, quizzes, projects, and downloadables.
Your library card just became more powerful with access to Columbia Granger's World of Poetry
Try a subject search for Halloween, Autumn, or Pumpkins for a poem to illustrate the season.  Many poems include audio.
