The new academic year is upon us, and this email is coming to you from the midst of registration week! There is something special about this time of year--the nervous excitement of new students, the happy reunion with returning students, shared community meals, and the getting-to-know-you orientation week flurry of activities. It is amazing to think of all of the new beginnings and continuation of faith journeys, as well as the earliest stages of new friendships that are forming this week.
This orientation week comes to an end on Saturday, with the annual NTC BBQ for new students and their friends and families at 4pm on the back lawn, followed by the Commissioning Service in the Chapel. If you are in the neighbourhood, please feel free to join us for food and fellowship, and praying for the new class of students who will start their new classes on Monday.
It is a busy period in the life of the college, because as this time of welcome is taking place for new students, we are also in the process of finalising next month’s Graduation plans for those who have completed their studies with us and are moving on to their next new beginnings. To have these different stages of the student journey so close together feels apt--a foreshadowing for those new students of what is to come after years of hard work and dedication. Please join the NTC community in praying for our new and returning students, that this academic year is a time of growth in faith, knowledge, compassion, and relationships; and for those graduating and finding their next place in further study, work, and life.
You are all very welcome to join us at Graduation on Saturday, 17th October, where our speaker will be the Bishop of Manchester, Rt Rev Dr David Walker. And while you’ve got your diaries out, why don’t you add the following week’s Didsbury Lectures with Professor Elaine Graham to your plans? We would love for you to join us!
From the NTC Team
