Happy April! We have a lot of information for you in this newsletter. Please note the upcoming virtual CLC meeting. We hope you can attend! We also have some more details and deadlines to share regarding our offers with Perlego and Bloomsbury (Anchor Yale Bible Commentaries).

TODAY, April 1 is the deadline for submitting a nomination for a student(s) at your institution to receive the 2022 ACL Research Award. Click here for more information about the award, to see the 2021 recipients, and to find a link to the nomination form. We hope you take advantage of this opportunity to recognize your student scholars and create a library presence at your academic awards ceremony.

Mark your calendars to join the CLC team as we host a virtual membership meeting on Wednesday, April 20, at 3:30 pm EST. This meeting will give an opportunity for us to share with you information on current vendor partnerships, the Perlego and AYBC offers, other ongoing vendor conversations, and more. We will also give a WALDO/Lyrasis update and provide an opportunity to hear from you as well. We will send out the meeting link soon.

Please note: For those considering participation in the Perlego offer (or for those with questions), we will have a pre-meeting discussion with Alberta from Perlego at 3:15 pm.

Yale Anchor Bible Commentaries Collection from Bloomsbury

Nine (9) members indicated interest in either a subscription or purchase. Five (5) additional members indicated possible interest. This puts us currently in the 20% discount tier (5-15 participating libraries). If we make it up to 16 participating libraries, the discount will go up to 25%. We need your commitment by May 2 in order to give the ACL office time to finalize the contract/billing details.

Perlego Offer Details

Individual institutions within CLC taking advantage of this offer will each have separate invoices and License Managers.
There will be one single contract with the same terms and conditions for all institutions to sign
This contract will include one common start and end date for all licenses purchased by CLC members. The duration of the contract will be one year (with renewal possible).
Deadline for the contract signatures is the end of May 2022 although the contract could start later if desired – this date still to be determined
Payment terms are 100% of the invoice to be paid (to Perlego by the individual institutions) within 14 days from the start date

About 15 members have expressed some interest in the Perlego offer. Based on feedback received on the Google form, we have the potential of purchasing over 2,000 licenses and reducing the per license price to $98 (or below). We hope that all who think they may participate will join us on April 20 at our 3:15 pm ‘pre-meeting’ with Alberta from Perlego. The CLC Team hopes the attendance at this meeting will provide a better picture of the level of interest in this offer.

Registration for ACL's annual conference is now open! The 2022 ACL Conference is hybrid, with both in-person participation at Newman University in Wichita, KS, and online participation for those who are not able to travel. As a CLC member, your library has the opportunity to register one non-ACL member from your institution for conference at the member rate. That's a $90 savings! You will need your CLC access code to take advantage of this member benefit. Email membership@acl.org to get your code. Registration closes on May 12.
