Alchemy of Hands: Bread Making

Last Saturday, February 9th, community members were led in a Brazilian bread making ceremony by Vanessa Fraga Mendes. "This communities passion will cook this bread," said Vanessa as we gathered around the oven to watch the loaves cook.

The collaboration between Enough Pie, Historic Charleston Foundation, Romney Urban Garden, and New Israel Reformed Episcopal Church made for an amazing day baking bread in the cob oven. Participants got hands-on with the sacred art of baking bread, enjoyed nourishing soup, experienced community around the table while sharing stories and recipes, and walked away with a loaf of nourishing bread. | | 843-972-3253
