FِAITH IS NOT LIMITED BY POLITICS

Pictured here: An Orthodox Jew prays at the wall of the Sanctuary of the Patriarchs and Matriarchs (also known as Ibrahimi Mosque and Cave Machpelah) in Hebron. Many still only pray outside the sanctuary, despite the Israeli authorities having divided the building, turning part of it into a synagogue after the 1994 massacre, when 29 Muslims praying in the mosque were killed by settler Baruch Goldstein.

INCESSANT DAILY ID CHECKING

Pictured here: While passing through checkpoints in Hebron, Palestinians going to places a few hundred meters away from their houses might be stopped and detained for 45 minutes by Israeli border police or solder. Here a Palestinian man has to sign a paper testifying that they didn't mistreat him during that period.

OVERCOMING BARRIERS

Pictured here: A CPTer escorts Saraiya kindergarten children through the paved part of a segregated street in Hebron. Fortunately for the kids this segregation hasn't been strictly enforced in the last few weeks. Previously they were forced to walk the unpaved path on the other side of the fence, which is full of rubble and trash. Challenging this rule lead to the arrest of two CPTers in March under false claims.

UBIQUITOUS OCCUPATION

Pictured here: Childhood in Hebron is constantly marked by the ubiquitous presence of the Israeli occupation.

GIRL INTERRUPTED

Pictured here: A Palestinian girl is briefly stopped on her way home as she makes her way past the weekly settler tour. While it may seem a minor inconvenience, when put in the context of constant occupation, it is part of a recurrent process of control and intimidation. The general perception of the weekly settler tour is of an intrusion on already restricted public space, with some private spaces also being occupied for extra surveillance (such as rooftops)

THE "MENACE" OF EDUCATION

Pictured here: Israeli Border Police beg search a Palestinian student at Qitoun checkpoint in Hebron.

TO ENJOY LIFE IS TO RESIST

Pictured here: The ability to smile and enjoy life while under occupation is a gift, and is an example of sumud.
