Happy Friday!

As I say in the podcast, about a million people sent this article today’s guest Clara Artschwager wrote for the Cut. I related, loved it and instantly reached out to have her on the podcast. Turns out she’d already been an Internet friend of mine and had listened to the podcast since back in the Wellness Wonderland days.

She is one of the kindest, most nurturing, talented, and wisest women I know. She had me over to her house upstate to record this episode. Our conversation was so robust I’m doing something I rarely do - splitting this episode into two. You’ll hear half this week were we discuss dating, chivalry in the Me Too era and meeting online vs meeting in person. Next week in part two, we'll discuss ghosting, jealousy, and unrequited love (oof!).

Some photos from my weekend in Rhinebeck with Clara when we recorded this episode. I kept my phone on airplane mode, didn’t read the book I brought, and chatted with Clara nonstop for 3 days [2 hours is recorded for the podcast]. Pictured here: her lovely home and our feet.

-My learn for this week: nothing is certain! Things that you think are forever and are going to make you feel safe - they won't always be there. We just have to learn how to be ok with ourselves.

-“Your task is not to seek for love but merely to seek and find all of the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”

If you loved this week's episode with Clara, definitely check out this episode with Alexi Wasser on where I was with dating 4 years ago.  Alexi hosts a podcast on the Nerdist network called Love Alexi that I listen to religiously. As you’ll hear in the episode, this was very first guest I recorded after changing the name of the pod to Let It Out  and is such a perfect guest for this transition.

Alexi is an actress, comedian, podcast host, and blogger in Los Angeles. You’ll love her wit and wisdom in this episode. We talk about feeling vulnerable and feeling exposed when sharing creative work and about about dating, death, future goals and what she does to stay inspired and confident. This episode is long and tangental, which I love and hope you do too. Alexi is such a talented, multifaceted, fascinating person. I could have talked to her for 2 more hours and I know you’ll love listening to our chat here.

  • Clara and I are hosting an event at The Hoxton Williamsburg on dating and relationships July 17th. Save the date!
  • My journaling class with Bluprint is now live and I am so excited to share it with you guys!

This week’s episode is sponsored by Ned. Ned offers wonderful hemp products made from organic materials in small batches to help with anxiety and insomnia relief, natural pain relief, as an anti-inflammatory, and so much more . I have tried so many CBD products but Ned is one of the best!

They extract their oils from hemp flowers using a slow and mindful process, and infuse each batch with binaural beats and happy loving energy. I love that on their dosage instructions on the bottle it reminds me to take 3 deep breaths before using. It’s such a grounding process and I’m so excited to share their wonderful products with Let It Out Listeners.

This week we have a new sponsor – Barukas nuts. Barùkas are a South American nut so ultra-nutritious that it’s fair to say it’s the healthiest nut in the world. I loved chatting with the founder, Darin Olien and learning more about how the company came to be. These nuts are seriously delicious and make a great healthy snack. I loved hearing how much work Darin has put into building a sustainable supply chain in sourcing the nuts that is respectful of the earth and of the indigenous people of South America.

Barùkas is offering Let it Out listeners 15% off their first order with code LET IT OUT at checkout
