SEASON 7 / EPISODE 259 / May 10

Happy Friday!

I'm so excited to share this week's episode with you. In case you haven't already seen or listened our guest is the vedic meditation teacher Thom Knoles. I’ve been meditating since 2015 after having Bob Roth on this podcast.

When I moved to New York, I met my friend Arden who owns a mediation studio called The Spring. We bonded over meditation and she raved about her teacher Thom. He’s an insightful and wise and I love the way he talks about meditation. This was a wide ranging conversation that touched on meditation but also covered relationships, intuition, creativity, charm, and way more.

-The word "Terrific". My other grandpa passed away this week, and this word always makes me think of him. He would always say he’s ‘terrific!’ whenever you asked how he was doing. And I just want to use this word more because of my grandpa.

-I love this writer Melissa Broder. She is a poet and writer and tweets @sosadtoday. She has many books - So Sad Today book of essays, a novel, a podcast Eating Alone in My Car. I think she’s so brilliant and cool and I hope to have her on the podcast in the future.

-I’ve been learning to try to be less of an asshole. To be more present with people and really listen to them. I think death and hard things softens people and puts things into perspective. You can get stuck in the mundane of life and when hard things happen it just puts life into perspective. I’m focusing on how I can be really present when I’m with people.

Check out episode 236 with producer and artist Tasha Blank. We covered everything from eating disorders to psychedelics to music, dance, and creativity. I admire her openness, wisdom, and presence. I think you'll love this one!

Episode 222 with musician Trevor Hall. I started listening to Trevor Hall back in 2009 when my yoga studio played him in a heavy rotation. After speaking with him the podcast, I learned that his career in the music industry had a tumultuous start which including
getting dropped from his label, living in a monastery, and eventually making a hit album. Beyond his music, he’s one of the most wise, peaceful, and dynamic people I’ve met.  We talked about music as a tool, meditation, surrender, learning vs. applying practices, Saturn returns, using astrology for self-awareness, traveling, staying grounded, relationships as mirrors, culture, connection, indecisiveness, and more.

This week we are welcoming a new sponsor - Ned!
Ned offers wonderful hemp products made from organic materials in small batches to help with anxiety and insomnia relief, as an anti-inflammatory, and so much more .

I have tried so many CBD products but Ned is one of the best! They extract their oils from hemp flowers using a slow and mindful process, and infuse each batch with binaural beats and happy loving energy. I love that on their dosage instructions on the bottle it reminds me to take 3 deep breaths before using. It's such a grounding process and I'm so excited to share their wonderful products with Let It Out Listeners.
