President's Newsletter - October 2016

Hello to all Balintians: It's definitely turned to Fall weather here in Colorado. The Aspen trees are bright yellow and there is fresh snow on the mountain tops. For those of you who know me well, you know that means I'm anxiously awaiting ski season!

Please note the urgent call for bids for the next Leadership Conference below!

As usual, it's been busy since my last Newsletter, lots going on in the world of Balint, so let's get to it!

Warsaw Leadership Conference

Conflict, Containment and Creativity: Those were the challenging themes expressed by Andrew Elder in his opening plenary, and the set the tone for a dynamic exploration of Balint leadership styles and dilemmas over the subsequent days. Group work was combined with plenaries that highlighted key points being brought up in the groups. We owe a great thanks to the Leadership Task Force and the Polish Society who hosted the Conference. In addition, the city of Warsaw grandly opened its gates to us, and many of us enjoyed sampling the sites and history of the Old and New Towns.

Belgrade Council Meeting

19-21 May, 2017: Mark your calendars now for the May Council Meeting in Belgrade, to be held in conjunction with a meeting of the Serbian Balint Society. Information on registration will be following in a few months.
