Recital Rehearsal

Just a reminder that the rehearsal for our Spring Recital will be on Saturday, May 19 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at First Church of Christ on Spring Street.

Why is it important to attend rehearsal? This is the only chance students have to play on the keyboards on which they will perform. Getting comfortable with the instrument and atmosphere in which they will be performing helps alleviate nerves and makes for a smooth recital experience.

Rehearsing the order of performance and how the students move about the stage also helps to prepare to keep the recital moving at a good pace.

I would strongly encourage students to wear (or bring and change into) the shoes they will be wearing for the recital. Often times students will find particular shoes are too slick on the bottom to pedal. If they wear any kind of heal, sometimes pedaling feels a lot different than what they are used to with their everyday shoes and it can be a distraction during their performance.

As always I will feed the students a pizza lunch with chips, cookies, and water all provided. If your student has an allergy or does not like pizza they are welcome to pack a lunch so they can eat with everyone following the rehearsal still.

(Sometimes we've gone until 12:15 but I will do my best to be done by 12:00!)

Spring Recital

The recital will be Sunday, May 20 at 2:00 pm at First Church of Christ on Spring Street in Bluffton. Students should dress accordingly. No jeans, t-shirts or tennis shoes. Dresses, khaki pants, dressy tops, ties are all acceptable. If you are unsure please fee free to ask.

Please have students at the church by 1:40. Families can feel free to wait in the foyer until the doors open just before 2:00.

Please invite family and friends and help celebrate your student's hard work and celebrate a year of music-learning and making!

This year's theme is 100% popular music and tunes you know. You'll hear music from Star Wars, Disney movies, other movies themes, rock music and more. It'll be lots of fun!

Nursing Home Performance

Thank you to the students who performed at Christian Care Nursing Home. Sorry to Abigail for missing a photo!
