New Driveway / Parking Information

This past week my husband has been busy getting the rest of the driveway on the property finished. There is now a "teardrop" loop as well as a driveway back to our barn.

Currently, we only have large stone on the new driveway. It needs to be driven on as much as possible to help pack down the stone for a strong driveway base. Could you help us out and simply drive around the loop every time you come to piano for awhile? It's bumpy so just drive slowly. :-)

This loop will make traffic coming in and out of piano much easier as you will not have to back up, turn around, or park in the dirt/grass area anymore.

When my husband comes home from work, he will begin parking at the back entrance of our garage to allow more space for student vehicles in the evening. Please do not park in the entrance to the drive going back to the barn.

I've marked 4 possible spots that students can park. Always begin with parking in front of the garage in spots #1, 2. If more space is needed, then two cars can easily fit next to each other at the top entrance to the teardrop.

If you park on the new drive and have to walk on the large stone, please walk with caution as it is hard to walk on and one could easily stumble.

Fall / Halloween Mini-Recital Performance

I will be hosting a mini-recital performance opportunity on Thursday, October 31 from 7:00-8:00 pm. (Yes, that's Halloween night).

Boo in Bluffton is also that evening with downtown merchants handing out candy from 5-6 and outlying merchants from 6-7.

This is the first time I've tried having a mini-recital on Halloween and I realize there may be lots of other things going on that night. Please know that this is OPTIONAL.

Students (and even family members!) can come dressed up, but it is not required. I will have light refreshments and hot cocoa and cider following the recital.

It will be here at the studio and I will only be offering one recital time which means there is limited space for participation. Participation availability will be first come first serve.

Please email Amy (don't text) if you are interested to hold your spot.

Fall Break

Please note that the studio is still open the week that most schools are on Fall Break. Please let me know (via email) if you will not be around.

Two Awesome Podcasts

https://www.npr.org/podcasts/404966350/classics-for-kids
I've recently come across two wonderful podcasts. They both focus on teaching classical music in a really fun and easy-to-understand manner. They're not even just for kids. I love listening to them!

The best thing about them is not only are they fun to listen to, but they're really short.

My favorite is David Williams's Marvelous Musical Podcast from Classic FM. Each episode is 15-20 minutes long and it is quirky, creative, and fun.

Classics for Kids is from WGUC Public Radio. It's not quite as silly as the other podcast but at only 5 minutes, it's short and sweet.

There are lots of easy ways to listen to podcasts. My favorite app for podcasts is Overcast. It has a very simple and clean interface and is much more user-friendly than the Apple Podcats app.
