Food for thought:-

Alan Jones – Australian article March 2018
“It’s clear that the problems in Australian Rugby are widespread, endemic, unaddressed and therefore unsolved.  And if the administrative arm of the game can’t get things right and can’t open the game to a bit of democracy and it’s preoccupied with promoting mates rather than the best, it’s a bit hard to imagine how performances on the paddock, by international rugby standards, are likely to improve.

Further food for thought:-

Paul Cully – SMH article April 2018
“In 2017 Rugby Australia spent $17m on “Corporate” costs, described in the RA report as “all costs associated with the administration, legal, compliance…of running the business.
In other words executive salaries and the like.  The amount given to “Community Rugby” was $3.7m.

2. Briars 2018 Season Draw

Colts Draw - Times to be confirmed

3. Briars Rugby Old Boys $100 Lunch Subsidy

Last year we had 10 subsidized 2017 players attend our lunch.  Lachlan White, Briars head coach 2017 & 2018, applauded this move and both coaches and players were grateful for the opportunity to share the day with Briars Rugby Old Boys.

We are looking to repeat this in 2018.

We need 10+ Old Boys to provide a $100 subsidy for players to attend.  Lachlan wants the players to come up with their own $50 to complete the total payment of $150.

Please contact your table captain or Chris Walker 0412 000 616 or Andy Craig 9181 1621 to offer and pay your $100 to subsidize a player.

Lachlan White will again speak briefly at our 2018 lunch.
