We have lots to share with your this month, with loads of events in and around Broken Bay for you to get involved with. We strongly encourage parish and school representation at the upcoming ACYF leaders information session to ensure you all have the latest information on how to promote and register for this life-changing event.
Don't forget to look at the resources section at the bottom of this email which this month includes an audio recording of Fr David Ranson, the transcript of Ashleigh Green's speech in Rome, and Pope Francis' TED talk.

ACYF Leaders Info Night
To support leaders in our parishes and schools to promote the ACYF in December and prepare your young people to attend, Catholic Youth Broken Bay (CYBB) in conjunction with the Catholic Schools Office (CSO), will hold a ACYF17 leaders information session on Wednesday 3 May. This will provide information including registration processes, the CYBB pilgrimage approach, participant formation as well as guidelines for risk management and leadership. We strongly encourage each parish and school to send at least 1 representative to one of the two repeated sessions we will hold on the day.

Where: Caroline Chisholm Centre, Level 6 Railway room
When: Wednesday 3 May 2017
           Afternoon Session 4:00-6:00pm   OR 
           Evening Session 7:00-9:00pm

Dinner will be provided for both groups from 6pm

Twilight Talks
Join Young Adults (18+) from around the Diocese to connect, share a meal, pray and be nourished by inspiring speakers.

Holy Hour for Vocations

You are invited join our gathering for an hour of adoration, reflection, prayer of the Church and music. First Friday of the Month from February to November.

Samuel Group - Discernment Program

Samuel Group is a discernment group for young adults, ages 18-35, who meet together once a month in order to pray and discover their individual vocations or lifetime call from God. The purpose of the program is to equip young adults with the tools they need to approach vocational discernment with peace, joy and confidence. Participants will learn how to make decisions according to God's will through prayer and spiritual guidance. Last Wednesday of the Month, dinner is provided.

The Faith We Believe:
Breaking Open The Creed

A 2-session course on the Creed, presented by the Catholic Life & Faith Formation Team, will explore these questions and the meaning of the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed, giving participants a sense of the underlying themes that run through the entire Catechism of the Catholic Church. Please come along for a deeper appreciation of what it means to state, “I believe…”

Lower North Shore Catholic Parish is made up of the faith communities of St Thomas’ Willoughby, St Philip Neri Northbridge and St Leonard’s Naremburn.
The Parish invites applications for the role of Youth Ministry Co-ordinator to begin work with the Parish staff in late July 2017.
We are seeking a committed Catholic who shares our passion and vision for ministry with young people. The Youth Ministry Co-ordinator will be responsible for planning, coordinating and resourcing ministries for youth, aged 12-18 and young adults up to age 35. The primary focus of this ministry will be fostering relationships through the establishing of parish based youth groups and formation opportunities.

Speak with your local parish/school about how you can register for ACYF. 
  • The age range for the festival  is students in year 9 through to young adults aged 30.
  • $250 Early bird registrations close 18 August
  • 3 creative competitions have been announced for young people to engage with the festival. These include the Official Theme Song Competition, as well as an Art and Short Film competition.

Recently Ashleigh Green represented CYBB and all of Australia in Rome at an international WYD preparatory meeting called 'From Krakow to Panama'. During this gathering the General Synod 2018 was also discussed, with its theme 'Young People, Faith and Vocational Discernment'.
