March was a great time of celebration and growth for CYBB. We had our first official Worship Grounds which gives young people the opportunity to worship, learn and grow while developing their creative skills for ministry. Ashleigh Green, from Warnervale Parish was announced as the Australian Representative for World Youth Day 2017 in Rome where she will be meeting with international delegates to celebrate the successes of WYD Krakow and look forward to Panama 2019, as well as the general synod on young people in 2018. Her week will finish with Mass with Pope Francis on WYD 2017 (Palm Sunday). We also celebrate the launch of the Chatswood Hub, who has kicked things off with the Alpha film series. 60 young people are registered for this event and are having a great time discovering more about their faith and relationship with Christ. And last but not least, our CYBB team has grown! PJ and I are super excited to welcome Sarah MacDonald to the the team in the role of Parish Resources and Formation Coordinator. Sarah will be with us in the office on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday and you'll be sure to see her at events as well.
Finally, as we approach the most important week in the church's calendar, Holy Week, we hope that you are all taking some time to pray, reflect and worship in your parish community. We invite parish leaders to let us know if you are holding any youth led liturgies during the week and we can promote these on Social Media for you, like stations of the Cross or Easter Youth Masses (We're more than happy to promote all your Triduum services)!
If you are not celebrating World Youth Day, aka Palm/Passion Sunday in your parish, we warmly invite you to join Bishop Peter at the Cathedral from 6pm (see event details below).
