People Are Talking: Staying on Your Ship in Port

Cruiseline.com Member Yankee47 wrote on the forum:

"For us, its all about the ship, its amenities, entertainment, and of course, the crew.   We hardly ever get off anymore, unless its just to stretch our legs...Been to many ports, many excursions back in the day..same ol junqle, and jungle...and those piers are getting longer and longer...unless of course we get a jitney..besides….whatever ship you happen to be on...it becomes a DIFFERENT world in port...more than half the passengers get off....That's when the hot tubs and spas and bars and even the buffet become....well...way more pleasant...I really need to wake up one day a gazzillonnaire….then I could own a yacht...a big yacht...but until then, staying on board on port days will do very nicely...and its way cheaper too...."

In response, ToddTheCruiser said, "I agree with the poster... But not all ports.  I always leave the ship and check it out even if I've been there before.  BUT!  this next trip is my third time the Western Caribbean.  I will stay on board on the Belize stop.  It's disgusting!  So... As the OP stated.  I'm going to chill out on the ship."

Bubba54 said, "For us it all depends on the port and the weather. An example is we have cruised Mexico so much that the ship is the destination and we don’t get off. Alaska we love the cruise and have taken it many times. We will always get off.... unless weather is bad then we stay onboard. New ports always get off."

Venue Review: Venetian Palace Show Lounge on Carnival Liberty

5/5 Stars: "Favorite entertainment spot on this trip. Only complaint, too small. If you weren't there at least 30-45 minutes before a show. Unlikely to find a seating spot. But not the venue's fault. More like the lack of great things to do, forces people to go to whatever good thing is available, which meant, full shows with no where to sit.- AxSnakexA
