Christmas Stocking Class

One of the biggest things we've missed since March are our classes. We miss the energy new students bring to the shop. We miss the light bulb moments that we get to witness, we miss the conversations!

Well, we've decided to dip our toe in the pool.

Join us for this 3 session hybrid learning Christmas Stocking Class.

If you've known us for a few years, you know that our favorite class is the Christmas Stocking Class. Nancy Lindberg's Christmas Sock pattern is the best. We decided this would be a good one to try out as a hybrid model. Our Nanny Jean would be happy. She was the Christmas Stocking knitter of the family. Every new member of the Doyle Clan earned a hand knit stocking from our Nan. Carly and I have now become the stocking makers and we couldn’t be prouder. She would be so happy we are carrying on her tradition.

We'll meet once a week on a 1.5 hour zoom call (Mondays Sept 21st, 28th & Oct 5th at 10am or 6pm). We'll teach you a new technique, chart reading, stranded color work, afterthought heel, kitchener stitch. Then, you'll also get one 30 minute in person class per week to ask questions face to face. We'll limit these in person visits to 3 people at a time in our classroom. We have enough room to be at least 6 feet apart in the classroom. Masks will of course be required. If you don't need the in person time, you can opt to not come in.

By registering for the "in person" class, you will automatically get the zoom call invitation. We will contact you to see if the 10am or 6pm time is best for you.

If this works, we'll try to do more sessions this fall!

You’ll learn how to follow a chart and basic sock construction in this class. We promise, it’s easier than you think!

Welcome back to school!!

Child Sweater

A long 3 day weekend means more knitting time!

I whipped up this sweet little sweater in Ella Rae Eco Tweed. I managed to just eek out this 9-12 month size with just one skein. Don't look too close at the sleeve length, one might be a few rows short:)

The pattern: Anker's Jacket
The yarn: Ella Rae Eco Tweed

1 skein for 3-6 months and 6-9 month sizes. I would get 2 skeins for anything bigger. You'll have left over, but you can find something to do with it!

Fidra Hat

Off the very busy needles of Sue...Pennyroyal.

We love this hat pattern with simple lace work. Good for a beginning knitter!

The Pattern: Pennyroyal
The Yarn: Apple Fiber Studios Opal- Anchor Color
The Pom Pom: Brights

Free for All Cowl

Carly knit a cowl too. Wow. We've been busy...

Lots of simple 1 skein projects in our bags these days.

This cowl is knit flat and seamed. Another simple yarn over lace pattern. Another great pattern for a beginner ready to learn a new skill.

The Pattern: Free for All Cowl
The Yarn: Ella Rae Rustic Aran
